13.01.2022 From the beginning of the lock-down until the end of May the African Violet Association uploaded a new African violet photo from the show archive. The attached ...video includes some of those that proved most popular. These are photographs from our previous shows over a good many years. Don't forget we will be having another African violet and Gesneriad show on 14 November this year. The show will be held at the Burwood RSL Club, 96 Shaftesbury Road, Burwood, NSW. 08.01.2022 Our final Open Days for 2020 will be held this coming weekend September 5 and 6 and the following weekend 12 and 13. The park is looking lovely at the moment wi...th rain earlier this year having a huge impact after the dry conditions of the last 18 months or so. Opening hours will be 10am to 4pm each day. At this stage the weather forecast isn't looking too promising but hopefully that will change for the better as the days get closer. There is an entry fee of $5.00 per adult with children admitted for free. Why do we charge for entry? the open days are fundraisers for the park to enable us to continue with new projects in the future. There is free parking available just outside the park for cars, minibuses and coaches. Follow the signs for the park up through the swing gate into our parking area. Alternatively we are a 15 minute walk from Bulli Station. As with the last open days in July Covid 19 restrictions apply. Do not come if you are feeling unwell, there will be other open days in the future. We will be recording contact details again, handsanitiser will be available and social distancing will be required. The Chapel will not be open this time so bring a thermos or a picnic lunch, there is a wood fired BBQ near the chapel (byo matches) and plenty of tables and seating available. As always we will have plants for sale with a good range of Grevilleas ranging from species to hybrids and cultivars, grafted plants and standards, as well as a range of Australian natives. Lloyd from Menai Wildflower Group will be bringing his Pink Flannel Flowers as well as a range of other natives. Our volunteers will be available to answer any questions you may have. Prices will range from $5 for tubestock, general 6" pots $12 and 8"pots $16, grafted plants ranging from $25 to $35 and standards for $100. Some plants pricing may vary depending on pot size, just just ask if you're not sure. We will have EFTPOS available and bring your own bags or boxes to carry your new plants home.
