22.01.2022 Only 4 rounds of games left and what a finish it will be. The ladder for both Men and Women Premier players is not set in stone yet and fluctuates night to night. Let’s see what’s on the agenda for this Thursday evening. Ansett take on Ellas Titans in a must win for both sides. Ansett dropped one to Eagles last week and find themselves stuck in third, they aren’t however out of the conversation for a top 2 finish. Ansett would have to win tonight to keep that hope alive. The... Titans are in a similar boat and need to continue winning to crack the top 4. Ellas have a new addition to the family as well, Congratulations Deola D'brown Ade. With some added motivation on both sides, we’ve got two highly motivated teams with a lot on the line. Next up the ladies take over Court 1 in another seed changing game. The Cannons are taking on Lightning in a game that both need to win. Lightning come into this one in second place, but not far behind are Ansett women. The Lightning ladies have begun to turn a corner though, mostly because that roster is starting to fill back out. Cannons won’t go easy and have a fourth-place spot on the line they would love to keep. Having a postponed game last week gave the Lady Cannons some extra rest and training time to get ready to fight for position. Keep a close eye on this one, it just might surprise you. Last, but certainly not least we’ve got Jets and Rebels men over on Court 2. This Jets team has been great all season and show no signs of slowing down. To stay in contention for the top 2, tonight is another must win night. Confident they will be, but Rebels won’t just lay down. A team that has enough guards to run with Jets and a solid big to take care of the point, Rebels wouldn’t mind an upset tonight. Uni may be out of the playoff picture, but a win tonight just might make their season. If Jets overlook them it will hurt their chances significantly to remain in the top 2. Maybe you shouldn’t overlook this one either Shoutout to all of our statisticians that keep our Live Stats going! Always clutch to be able to see everyone’s numbers. Just tap the link and you’ll see! https://darwin.basketball/league-stats/live-stats/ #DBA
22.01.2022 It’s finally time! That’s right the first round of finals for our Premier League basketball here in the Top End kicks off tonight. With only four teams remaining in both men’s and women’s competitions, we are down to the nitty gritty. Just a reminder of how things work. The number 1 and 2 seed will play each other, and the 3 and 4 seeds will play each other. The winner of the 1 and 2 matchup goes straight to the Grand Final, while the loser will play the winner of the 3 and ...4 seeded game. The loser of the 3 and 4 seeds will be eliminated. Hopefully, that helps you all out, if not just show up every week for the next three weeks because we will have some great games to watch. Okay, so the women will start our finals off tonight. We have the two teams who have dominated this competition for quite some time going to battle once again. The number 1 seeded TV Jets women will take on the number 2 seed Lightning. For the last few seasons this has been the Grand Final match up, so no one is surprised to see these two at the top of the ladder. Very deep rosters in the guard spots paired with some savvy veteran leadership will make this game a must watch. Lightning has seen more victories in recent history, but Jets have yet to taste defeat all season. When finals start it’s a brand-new season, so it is anybody’s game. Our second final of the night will feature the men’s competition with Ansett taking on the Cannons. These two teams finished in 3rd and 4th place respectively and have been competitive all season long. Ansett owned the head to head during the regular season winning all three of their match ups, but they weren’t always blow out games. Ansett had to win on the buzzer in one of their meeting with Cannons, so by no means is this going to be a walk in the park. If Cannons get hot, they are liable to beat anyone in the competition and with the guards they have it can happen at any point. Two teams that utilize that three-point line big time, so a shootout it will most likely be. May even come down to the last possession. Just like the regular season we have Live Stats for all of you Premier League finals games. Just tap the link and stay up to date on all the action. https://darwin.basketball/league-stats/live-stats/ #DBA
21.01.2022 28 kids at junior ref training today And congrats to our 5 debutantes - Aiden, Leslie, Athena, Daniel and Ben
21.01.2022 Tonight is quite simple, win or go home. The women take the court first with TV Jets taking on Ansett and the men will tip off shortly after the women play. We will see the Jets men and Cannons battle it out in a trip to the Grand Final. All four of theses teams we expect to bring it because there is no tomorrow. Live Stats will keep you updated if you can’t make it. Just tap the link and stay tuned. https://darwin.basketball/league-stats/live-stats/
21.01.2022 Yes, folks we are still running our competition, but only the Premier League will be playing over these holidays. Tonight, we have action kicking off at 7pm on Court 1 in the men’s competition with Lightning taking on TV Jets. Not the best season so far for this Lightning side, but they have made some strong improvements over the last few weeks. With the additions of some younger legs teaming up with the older bigger veterans on their squad, Lightning are no cake walk. Jets ...will have their hands full especially coming off a loss last week that puts them in a three-way tie for first place with Ansett and Eagles. Tonight, is not a night for Jet’s to take another loss, so a highly motivated group will take the floor tonight. Lightning may be out of the playoff picture, but that does not mean they won’t take this opportunity to take out one of the elites of the men’s comp. A great way to start our full slate of Premier League basketball over these school holidays. Game 2 on Court 1 has the women taking over and the unblemished TV Jet’s women will take on Uni Rebels who are in a fight for a top 4 spot for the rest of the season. TV Jets have been pushed this year, but have no broken and still are the most dominant team in the competition. Taking down the number 2 team on the ladder, Lightning fairly easy last week, Jet’s do not look like they can or will be stopped. Rebels have a lot to play for and most importantly to remain in the conversation of making the playoffs. Losing to Cannons who are above them at the moment did not help this young Rebels team, but an opportunity to make up some ground and take out the top team makes tonight vital. A high paced affair with a lot on the line will make this quite the watch. Our final game over on Court 2 has our number 3 and 4 seeds in the men’s competition going to battle. Eagles will be taking on Cannons for the third time this season with quite a bit on the line. Eagles need to win so they stay in the conversation for a top 2 finish and after a nail bitter against Ellas last week, they would like to reassert their dominance. Cannons will also be in a fight to the finish as they look to remain in the top 4, but need to play very well tonight in order to do that. Both teams host some great outside shooters and if any of them get hot we will be in for quite the game. Big time ladder implications in this game, so stay glued to your seats! Live Stats! You can still follow along even if you are not here. https://darwin.basketball/league-stats/live-stats/ #DBA
21.01.2022 Friday night is going to be action packed with Premier League basketball. With only a few games left, tonight is going to be huge for some of these teams in terms of seeding and potential to make playoffs. Let’s see what the night has in store for us! The women will be taking over Court 1 to start the night off with Lightning taking on Razzle Storm. Lightning come into this game sitting at number 2 on the ladder, but are not a lock to finish there at the moment. If they end u...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Friday night, what better way to spend it than enjoying Premier League basketball at Marrara. We are unfortunately down one game for the evening, but don’t you stress because the remaining games will definitely keep you entertained. So, initially we had the women taking over Court 1 to start the night, but the Razzle Storm and TV Jets game will not go ahead. Court 1 will now feature the men’s competition first with Palmerston Power taking on Uni Rebels. Palmerston come int...o this game after a devastating loss to Ellas Titans last week making it very hard for them to see a top 4 finish. Palmerston still has a chance if Cannons and Ellas take a few losses, but they will need to win tonight to help strengthen their chances. Rebels come into this one with playoffs out of their reach, but another opportunity to get their young players some valuable experience. Taking a tough loss to Ansett last week, Rebels did show glimpses of great play it’s just about maintaining that play for a full game. Keep a close eye on this one, it may bring out the best in both of these teams. The prime-time game on Court 1 will feature the rising Ellas Titans club taking on TV Jets in the men’s competition. Ellas are fighting for their playoff lives, so a win tonight would go a long way in helping their playoff push. The Titans have been playing really good basketball in recent weeks and will need to keep that high level of play if they want to take down one of the hottest teams all season in TV Jets. Jets are apart of that three-way tie group at the top of the ladder and if they want to stay there a win has to be in the cards. Jets will also utilize this time to build some more chemistry as this should be the second game with their full squad. Size against speed and a whole lot on the line. Ellas..Jets Who you got??? Our final game of the night on Court 2 showcases the women’s sides of Uni Rebels and Lightning. With Cannons going down last night, Rebels have a huge opportunity where they can close the gap and be tied for fourth place. A tall task, but possible if Rebels can utilize their youth to generate some turnovers and quick baskets. Lightning is another team that hasn’t seen their full side all season, but tonight they will have a few key pieces back in the line up to make that push to the playoffs and great play. Tonight gives Lightning a chance to gel and work through their rotations, but this hungry Rebels team won’t go away easy. Live Stats!!! https://darwin.basketball/league-stats/live-stats/ #DBA

09.01.2022 Hey basketball fans we’ve got some interesting matchups for you to close off these school holidays. With only 5 rounds remaining after tonight and tomorrow things are starting to heat up around the association, so you may want to keep a close eye on some of your favourite teams. The men’s competition will be on display to start the evening off on Court 1 and we’ve got a top 4 showdown that may make or break one of these team’s season. Ansett who are sitting in a three-way ti...e for first place will be taking on the Cannons who are just one game ahead of the number 5 team on the ladder. The last time these two met it was a very close one with Ansett getting the win just at the buzzer. The Cannons will be out for vengeance and also would like to widen that gape between themselves and the number 5 team. Ansett need to continue winning if they want to finish atop the ladder and give themselves a redemption game in that first round of playoffs. Some star-studded guard play mixed with a high tempo game will make this one really exciting, so hang onto your seats! Game 2 on Court 1 will give us all a bit of déjà vu as we see the women of Ansett taking on the Lady Cannons. While Ansett sit in 3rd place, the Cannons sit in 4th, so this is quite the game for your viewing pleasures. Ansett still have a chance to move up the ladder and possibly finish in the top 2 and coming off a tough loss last week the ladies in blue will be highly motivated to put on a show tonight. The Cannons on the other side have had some really high moments and low moments thus far this season, but would like for tonight to be one of those high moments. Another game where the guards are the stars of the show, but there are a few very solid post players in this one tonight. Big time ladder implications in this one folks, so stay tuned. Last but not least over on Court 2 we see the men’s competition take the court with top of the ladder Eagles taking on a hungry Lightning team. Eagles are a part of that group tied for first place and just like Ansett and TV Jets, Eagles need to continue winning to give themselves an opportunity to be in the top 2. Lightning haven’t been one of our better teams this season, but have shown glimpses of some pretty good play. Lighting may have a better chance than most think tonight with their size and strength inside. They may be able to counteract the size of Eagles, but Eagles will definitely have the advantage in the backcourt. This is anyone’s game to take just depends who wants it. 03.01.2022 The first round of finals shall continue on this lovely Friday evening. Some great action heading your way for Premier League basketball. The men will take over Court 1 to start things off, where we will see the number 1 seeded Eagles taking on number 2, TV Jets. These two teams have been the most consistent from start to finish and it’s only right to see them dual it out for a spot in the Grand Final. Eagles do hold the regular season series, but the games were very close a...nd came down to a few plays. Both squads have potential to put up big numbers and do it on the defensive end as well. Probably the most anticipated rematch of the season because either team can take the night. MVP’s, top defenders, scorers, youth and experience, this game has everything you want and need. Game 2 showcases the women’s competitions number 3 and 4 seeds in Ansett and Cannons respectively. These two teams met just a couple weeks ago, and it saw Cannons take over the game in a big way. Ansett have been no slouch in the other times these two have met and have been the more consistent of the two for the majority of the regular season. Both sides utilize their guard play significantly and have some post players that can really impact the game. There is no tomorrow, only the moment and either team has the opportunity to seize this moment. Live Stats!!! https://darwin.basketball/league-stats/live-stats/ #DBA
