23.01.2022 Finally... ‘As of today, Tuesday 31st March, we are advised Massage and Myotherapy are considered non-essential services in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Victoria, and therefore remedial massage therapists and myotherapists in those states should cease face to face practice immediately.’ I still stand by my choice to temporarily close my business earlier than this forced closure. The health & safety of my clients is what is most important!

16.01.2022 A quick note... I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is enjoying some down time with family and friends after the crazy year we've had! I just wanted to jump on here and let everyone know that Darwin Myotherapy has some exciting news to share - myself and my partner, Bradley, are expecting a baby girl at the end of April, 2021!! ... At this stage, Darwin Myotherapy will continue to operate as normal and I will let everyone know as soon as I decide what will happen going forward, particularly regarding maternity leave dates etc. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on 0437034860 or [email protected]. 13.01.2022 Happy Monday! First of all, I would like to say a big thank you to all of my existing and new clients for their support and patience since re-opening our doors at the start of June! Also, just a reminder to please cancel/reschedule your appointment, with as much notice as possible, if you have any symptoms of respiratory illness, including sore throat, fatigue, cough, fever etc. ... If you do attend your appointment with these symptoms, you will be refused treatment. I (Rachel, Myotherapist) will also reschedule appointments if I am experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. 13.01.2022 Darwin Myotherapy is back!! Darwin Myotherapy will be operating as of Monday, June 1st, 2020. There will, however, be some changes to the way we operate! These changes are listed below, and have been put in place in order to obtain a Statement of Commitment to a Covid-19 Safety Plan. - Appointments will be by appointment only, no walk in appointments available ... - Clients are encouraged to arrive on time for their appointment, no earlier - Bathroom facilities and hand sanitiser will be available for all clients to use prior to and following their appointment - No handshaking or any other unnecessary contact between clients, and between client and Myotherapist - No additional individuals are to be present in the treatment room during appointments unless absolutely necessary (eg: children) - Clients will be screened regarding overseas/interstate travel and symptoms of respiratory illness at each appointment - There will be a 30 minute gap between appointments, to allow for thorough cleaning/disinfectant procedures and to ensure minimal traffic through the clinic - All surfaces and equipment touched by client and Myotherapist in the treatment room will be cleaned/disinfected following each appointment - All linen will be changed following each appointment - Other shared surfaces will be cleaned frequently throughout each day - Contactless payment methods preferred if possible - All magazines have been removed from waiting room - Disposable plastic cups available for client use if needed - Finally, and importantly... Clients must cancel/reschedule their appointment, with as much notice as possible, if they have symptoms of respiratory illness, including sore throat, fatigue, cough, fever etc. If a client does attend their appointment with these symptoms, they will be refused treatment. I (Rachel, Myotherapist) will also reschedule appointments if I am experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. Due to the time needed for cleaning/disinfecting, and the need to ensure minimal traffic through the clinic, there will be a limited number of appointments available per day. Additional operating hours will be added gradually over the coming weeks! Operating hours as of June 1st, 2020: Monday 10am - 6pm Tuesday 8am - 5.30pm Wednesday 10am - 8pm Online bookings will be available tomorrow, 26th May, at 12pm. 07.01.2022 This superstar received some well deserved treatment after running a marathon... which she completed approx. 2 weeks earlier than intended, by herself, in Darwin, during the build up - this woman can do anything!!

06.01.2022 COVID-19 Update It is with a heavy heart that unfortunately I will be temporarily suspending all Myotherapy services at Darwin Myotherapy until further notice. With the current information I have access to regarding COVID-19 and the way it can be transmitted, I do not feel comfortable treating clients knowing that there is a risk for you, myself, and the wider community. And, if I can assist in any way in slowing the potential spread of COVID-19, then as a Myotherapist, I t...hink it is irresponsible for me not to do so. I will contact each of you that have an upcoming appointment booked. I will also do everything in my power to assist each of you in any way that I can during this time, so if you have any questions or concerns, or would like any home care activities (exercises, stretches etc.), please do not hesitate to contact me, Even though a lot of you don't like my 'homework' I hope that you all can respect my decision and I really hope I get to see you soon at Darwin Myotherapy! 03.01.2022 SPIKEY BALLS!! I’ve had a few patients contact me asking what they can do at home in order to assist with their aches/pains, so I have suggested the use of a spikey ball. Spikey balls are great for assisting in decreasing tension and relieving pain, and can target those tricky areas that you may struggle to reach with a foam roller. ... Some areas they are commonly used for include: - glutes, - in between shoulder blades, - forearms, and - base of feet. I have some spikey balls in stock, so if anyone would like one please let me know - they are $15. I am also happy to organise delivery to your door, maintaining social distancing, and am happy to answer any questions regarding how to use them!

01.01.2022 Happy Thursday! A little update... At this stage, I will be looking at finishing up around mid to late March, 2021, to begin maternity leave. But, of course, I’ll keep everyone posted as this gets closer and if things change. ... Due to this, I have decided that as of February 8th, 2021, Darwin Myotherapy will not be taking on any new clients. This is purely because of my inability to provide ongoing care due to maternity leave. It is also to ensure that I can cater for my existing clients before I go on leave. In saying this, it might be worth my existing clients booking ahead to make sure you don’t miss out before I finish up! I am in the process of meeting with other practitioners in order to provide some options for your ongoing care while I’m on leave, and again I will give you these details ASAP.
