04.01.2022 Nippers & Cadets training update There will be no wet season training this year. Training will resume in early March 2021. DSLSC Junior & Youth Coordinator, Tracy Koch strongly encourages ALL Nippers and Cadets use the coming months to hone their swimming skills. While the weather is warm, it is a terrific time to get involved in learn to swim, squad swimming or pool lifesaving programs.... Swimming is a huge part of our Surf Environment and therefore a skill for life. It is important our young members are competent/strong swimmers. We cannot stress enough about learning to swim. We are putting your child/children in the ocean and they need to be confident. Swimming is fun and very rewarding, As you see your child progress up the levels of swimming skills, building confidence, strength and fitness. This fitness and confidence then converts to our board and for ski paddling later on in their training, along with other safety skills that surf can provide you child. Surf Swimming in uneven water can be a little uncomfortable, it is not like flat water swimming in a pool. Join up for lessons now while it is warm and inviting. Parents, feel free to contact Tracy with any questions at [email protected]
