15.01.2022 Meet the Cast (Part 4): The Locals and the Interlopers! Antonio: Andrew King The Sea Captain: Jack Macmillan The Officer: Kate Dyer... Antonio: Andrew got his start in high school as the lead singer in rock and roll band. It was a long way to the top so he switched to community theatre, making huge puppets, walking on stilts, breathing fire the fun never stopped. Tiring of the taste of kerosene brought another change, this time to theatre in education shows. Playing a UVB ray in a sun protection show and a penguin in a conservation show were two of the more memorable roles. Many years of theatre and bands, and later a career in teaching, led him to Darwin where he now resides in the bosom of his family. He has two dogs. The Sea Captain/Servant/Guard: First the Sea Captain in Lord of the Flies, and now playing the Sea Captain in 'Twelfth Night', if there is a Sea Captain role out there Jack Macmillan will find it and play it! "It'll be good practise for when the sea levels eventually rise and engulf the land resulting in some kind of Waterworld scenario." explains Jack, "Does anyone remember that film? Kevin Costner? But he had like webbed feet and gills. A box office bomb as they say... I've never seen it but my dad likes it." In all seriousness though this is Mr. Macmillan's first Shakespeare performance and he couldn't have done it without the support of his fellow incredible actors, and the guiding tutelage of the deities, Tony Rive and Cat Hart. The Officer/Guard/Olivia Understudy: Kate grew up in Melbourne and has performed in a number of shows in the top end since moving to Darwin in 2017. She has a background in both dance and drama and is a high school teacher who loves to share her experiences and knowledge with students. This is Kate's second production with Darwin Theatre company after performing the role of Meg in 'Secret Bridesmaids Business'. This is her first Shakespeare production and she hopes to be in many more in the future. Kate has had a hoot working with the cast of Twelfth Night and hopes you enjoy the show as much as we have
