25.01.2022 Well, what a way to celebrate the 2019/20 season for the Darwin Triathlon Club and all the superhumans who make up our wonderful community! You're all incredible The theme felt a particularly accurate way to sum up the year and how everyone's contributions in all forms have enabled our calendar to mostly run as planned The effort in the costumes were spectacular, from the very minimalist (Jack ), to secret identities, to some of the hottest and bulkiest costumes for this... time of year. This effort was matched by the creativity of people's poses throughout the race and the ever-reliable support from those who aren't racing We also think that last night's numbers made it the best attended club AGM ever! Massive thanks as always go to our volunteers who make every event on our calendar possible: Paul Hunt as RD, Sarah and Matilda Pratt making sure there were icy cold refreshments at the end and Natasha Freeman & Marg Black on registration. There never seems to be a shortage of hands for setting up bike racks and this was true again under the guidance of Chris, Gary and Paul the rest of you remain too many to mention but are an essential part of being able to race as smoothly as we do A special thanks to Lucy who made sure to let cars from nearby places know to take care and for all of those drivers sharing the road so gracefully with us all! A further thanks to Lucy for all her exceptional work as president; you leave the role with the club in a wonderful place and we can't wait to see how you share your energy and enthusiasm for the sport with the rest of the Territory! A massive thanks and congratulations too goes to all the 19/20 committee who rode the bumps of this year and made sure it was one worth celebrating :) Some notable mentions for the evening include: Jack Sinclair's flat tyre change efforts (matching that of those in the Tour) and then wearing the old tube on his chest like a true superhero; Aaron Trenfield running 3km in Dogman Head (how you didn't run into a tree we'll never know!); Coxy, who managed to lose the sole of his shoe on the run; all of you courageous humans who braved full body paint in September; Pete & Kat King for their guidance on the turns (although apparently they were witness to many funny turn attempts anyway ); Sarah and Helen for being the best-dressed matching transition marshals we have ever had; Tim E wore a helmet on the run with a GoPro with a plan to talk through his race, but was suffering lack of oxygen so helmet wearing went well... but the talking through the race became somewhat limited; Jason for run course marking; Clancy & Ang for their work with trophies & awesome prizes; and a tied win for the quiz kings this year Brian & Daryl!

21.01.2022 RESULTS Duathlon #2 Hidden Valley Sunday 20/09/2020 17:30

20.01.2022 Yesterday's Duathlon #2 hotter and more humid race than we've had for quite a long time! It was so impressive to see everyone still digging extremely deep and pushing themselves to set some blistering PBs around the track As always, there was a large cast of volunteers to make sure the race ran well :) Moira did an amazing job as RD, and made sure to keep a watchful eye on everyone in the tough conditions. She'd also like to pass on particular thanks to the following people...: Gayle and Alan, and Patricia who came just to volunteer. She's also particularly grateful to Julie, Kyle and co, who were sent on a specific mission to cheer everyone over the finish line in the carpark Moira, Chris and Gary all did a brilliant job adjusting on the fly after we realised we were having some problems with getting reads from the mats positioned as they were (although a downhill finish seemed to generate no complaints). Coxy made sure we all had a very clear explanation of the course to follow after the changes. A big thanks to Jo Duncan and Caz Ashford for spending their pre-race time on rego, and the Fidler's proved themselves invaluable yesterday, as the ice and cold drinks have never been more welcome! Ange did a fantastic job coordinating everybody in the lead-up and ably assisted with plenty of additional tasks on the day. As always, there were loads of others who also chipped in to make everything happen you prove week after week how amazing our community is! This community support extends across clubs in Darwin and we'd like to give a shout out to Darwin Runners Walker Inc for their loan of an additional timing mat. It was also SO good to see Andy Hardy back and on the bike! After a crash in March & spending a lot of time under anaesthetic, our Broken Spoke winner from last season was back and we couldn't be happier to see him around! Congratulations to everyone who came down and raced yesterday and a huge thanks to the collections of friends and families who were there and shared their support for everyone who was racing

19.01.2022 21/11/20 Thanks to Paul and Patch for the photos!

18.01.2022 Last day for early bird registration today! Make sure you're all sorted for a glorious Sunday evening of racing

18.01.2022 Remember to get your Duathlon/AGM/Awards night registrations sorted today! Last year, you all pulled out all the stops on the costume front! Pedal Pete showed he had another type of 'string' to add to his bow, although not necessarily one the rest of us needed to see Many beer-drinking budgie smuggler-wearing humans could be found throughout the evening & Craig was doing whatever it is that Craig does We can't wait to see what everyone has come up with on the Superhero f...ront for this year's theme! Of course, we also had Barry famously unable to remember he was the one who was stung by a jellyfish The life member quiz will be making a return again this year and will be bigger and better for 2020! The crown is up for grabs. Lucy has been hard at work in the archives digging up some golden bits of old history. We will also challenge the speedy transition kings to a special race! So make sure you don't miss out and jump over to the event or website to find the event link now https://www.facebook.com/events/3424957970858667/
