10.01.2022 This week's Thoughtful Thursday spiritual wisdom session is all about The Origin of Kirtan. If you've been practicing kirtan and wanting to learn more about it, if you've been curious about what kirtan is all about, or have any questions about kirtan, this is the session for you! In modern times, great numbers of people are tuning into the wonderful yoga practice of kirtan meditation, sometimes without even knowing what kirtan is really all about ~ and so in this weeks Thoughtful Thursday session, we’ll be discussing the origin and the real purpose of kirtan with Jiva Krishna das.

10.01.2022 The higher self. This refers to you, the person who inhabits the body and mind. We, the person, are of a spiritual nature also known as the soul or spirit. The lower self. This refers to this material body and mind that we inhabit, the vehicle that we, the soul, uses. When we fully realise who we are as the spiritual being, then we aren't dragged around this world by the desires that arise in the mind and body that cause so much agitation. This is when we can experience real and lasting peace and deep satisfaction.

09.01.2022 The Real Meaning of Christmas With the Christmas season coming up, it always gives us a good opportunity to consider the origin of this festive event. So on this weeks Thoughtful Thursday session, we’re going to be talking about the real meaning of Christmas celebrations ~ the real meaning of Lord Jesus Christ birth.

08.01.2022 We have grown up in an age where MY happiness is paramount, but loneliness is not rare, depression is not rare and emptiness is not rare. If we learn to make our lives more about the happiness of Supreme and others and learn how to give we will find that happiness which we have been looking for.

06.01.2022 Haha, sorry Ben accidentally shared the live stream to his personal FB page!

05.01.2022 "The individual soul (atma) can be compared to a diamond, whose value is not appreciated because it is covered over. A beautiful diamond may lie deep underground covered by layers of dirt and rock and although it exists in darkness, it is still a diamond, but because it is so covered up its intrinsic beauty and value go unrealised." Jagad Guru

04.01.2022 I'll be making this delicious vege loaf for this Sunday's Christmas kirtan. It is a total winner every time I make it. Sauce cup BBQ sauce of choice 3 Tablespoons ketchup... 2 Tablespoons olive oil Dash of hot sauce Vegetarian Meatloaf Safflower oil to cover pan 1 large onion, diced 1 jalapeño, diced 1 celery stem, diced 1 package vegetarian "ground beef" or 2 cups TVP or cooked whole grains or beans Water 2 teaspoons ground flax 1 cup cooked oatmeal 1 cup breadcrumbs cup nutritional yeast 2 Tablespoons vegetarian Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon thyme 1 teaspoon basil 1 teaspoon garlic powder Salt and pepper to taste Method Preheat oven to 350. Combine Sauce ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Set aside. In a skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, jalapeño, celery and vegetarian "ground beef". Sauté until lightly browned. Transfer to a large mixing bowl. Place flax in a small bowl and add just enough water to cover. Stir well. Combine sautéed mixture, flax mixture and remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour mixture in an oiled loaf pan, patting to spread evenly. Cover meat loaf with Sauce, spreading evenly. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and cool slightly. Serve on a large platter or slice into individual servings. Enjoy! Recipe by Down to Earth Photo by Simple Veganista

04.01.2022 We are into our last week of classes before we head off on a break. We would love to see you in class this week!

04.01.2022 The Christmas season is that time of year when we especially cherish peace and goodwill. Peace in the world, in our communities, in our relationships and in our hearts. Great spiritual teachers tell us that the peace we long for is based upon developing the qualities of respect and tolerance. Cultivating these spiritual qualities mean that more than just being a time or a season, Christmas becomes a state of mind and heart. Hatred and conflict are often rooted in differences... between people of different races and religions. We all need to respect people of different races as well as people of different faiths and religions. We need to unite by recognising our common desire and need for a harmonious societya society in which we and our children and families and friends and communities can all live our lives in peace and harmony. Regardless of our race or religion, we all want and need such social harmony Without respect for people of different races or ethnicities or religions, how can we have a peaceful and harmonious society or world? And without a harmonious society, how can there be the necessary economic development and atmosphere conducive to spiritual happiness and self-realization? Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda One who is not in transcendental consciousness can have neither a controlled mind nor steady intelligence, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace? Sri Krishna, Bhagavad Gita
