Big seven gill sharks and snapper can be caught here and it can also be explained like fishing off the beach but being able to walk out past the surf about 500 meters. 20.01.2022 Those Boat Fishos in the know have already realised how valuable and tasty this resource is. These sand flathead should always be on your agenda when heading out on a day in the boat, they’re usually plentiful once found and I have caught them in up to 50 meters of depth as well as fishing off ocean beaches. Not to be confused with the darker dusky flathead found in rivers and estuaries and sometimes beaches and I would say these are more plentiful, check out the current price per/kg there. These I don’t think grow as big as I am yet to see a 3 metery

07.01.2022 The last 6 - 9 months or so I’ve been hitting multiple locations to work out snapper locally in our Sydney waters. I’ve posted on my personal profile quite a bit and I even managed to bag out on 1 session. Yeh there’s a few videos on my YouTube channel from belambi but that is a hike and I generally only have time to do 4-5 hour sessions on the boat, so it’s a bit far for me just to try get a few. What I do get aren’t usually big but they are just above legal size in NSW and we all know how many we can get undersized. The trick is to try and fight through the smaller ones which are usually quicker to your bait than the bigger ones. I don’t consider myself an expert on snapper but this is one of the ways I go about it. Be sure to subscribe

04.01.2022 This is my Maths Face *15 meters of water *Rapala X-Rap swims at 9 meters *Boat troll speed 5Km/hour *Red Rock Cod feed / ambush from bottom.... Got out before the rain set in early this morning, the aim was snapper on big hardbodies, and if that failed soft plastics. I purchased these Rapala X-Raps yesterday at BCF wetherill Park thanks to Philip Egiman Pittorino, great help and really knows his stuff, After debating back and forth wether these were too big, would dive deep enough or to match the hatch, I was stubborn and said I wanted one that looks like a slimy and another that stands out like a soar thumb. I was greeted this morning with a southerly and a rising swell. I found and marked my bait schools and then proceeded to release the hounds. (I do have some footage of this which I will upload to my YouTube channel when I can.) I turned my GoPro on and put the lures way back and bounced around trolling over and looking at the mark start showing up sitting mid water and talking to the GoPro , then the rod started bending a bit weird and I was on, I couldn’t actually believe it, sticking out like a saw thumb worked I felt a few head bumps and I will call it for smaller snapper as there was no jumping as you would expect from a tailor or salmon. I did another pass and turned onto some shallower ground and the reel started screaming and locked onto a major snag losing the soar thumb lure. I was left with the only slimy looking replica so I passed over my first run and hooked that rock cod in 15 meters with lure that is rated to swim 9 meters. I ended up losing that lure also on the snag so I will be visiting BCF for some replacements. Conditions weren’t ideal but I’ll get the footage up on my YouTube channel when I can. Weather is looking terrible over the weekend, good luck if u can sneak out in it and wet a line Cheers.
