24.01.2022 What a difference 8 weeks makes when you live in Victoria! We’ve gone from a balmy daylights saving after dinner play on the beach during the 420 State Titles on the 8th March, to today’s wild and cold weather (and a whole lot else inbetween ). It’s been lovely to see sooooo many local families walking along the DBYC beach area during the past months COVID restrictions. How lucky are we to have this piece of paradise (usually!) at our back door. We will keep dreaming of the sailing we know will come...

15.01.2022 Woohoo! The season is underway! What a difference 6 days can make . Great to see the 420, Lasers and Optis on the water this morning.

13.01.2022 Following social distancing rules today for race briefing...... Very lucky to have a large lawn space and get two big wind races in. Take care to all our members and friends

13.01.2022 The first Twilight session of the summer was a smashing success last night. The king low tide prevented any FF’s being launched, but the adaptable race officer and proactive team of sailors resorted to OTB boats and enjoyed two fixed mark races. Twilight racing continues for the next two Friday nights!

12.01.2022 DBYC further measures re: Covid-19 - 2019/2020 SEASON IS CLOSED. Message from the Commodore & Committee of DBYC To Members & Friends of DBYC... With the recent increase in Government restrictions over the last 48 hours, the Commodore & Committee of DBYC has decided to end the 2019/2020 sailing season as at today 25 March, 2020. We will be making arrangements over the coming days to ensure a suitable pack-up and winterisation of the club and will alert members accordingly, based on allowable activity under the current Government guidelines. If you have any concerns or questions about club access and preparing for off-season, please email [email protected]. There will be no further formal gatherings at the club and - currently - members may still access the club for their own purposes. If you do attend the club then please follow the current procedures of registering your visit (in the journal immediately inside the club main door), maintaining hand hygiene, wiping down surfaces that you contact and maintaining social distancing if others are present. We will be assessing the options for EGM & Prize-Giving and will advise you when relevant decisions have been made. Given that the planned date of 23 May and the rapid evolution of the current crisis we will hold off on firm decisions until later in April. Our guidance is best captured in a quote from Daniel Andrews: If it’s not essential, then don’t get together. Thanks for your patience, understanding and support with this challenging situation. 03.01.2022 DBYC RESPONSE TO COVID-19 (as at 19 March 2020) In response to the current health crisis regarding the spread of COVID-19, the Commodore & Committee of DBYC has discussed and agreed on a range of measures to balance our twin aims of continuing to run our sailing program and protecting the health of members and their families.
