19.01.2022 I am a registered Psychologist commencing services in the Bungendore area and have appointments available at Bungendore Medical Centre on a Monday and every second Saturday and Queanbeyan GP Super Clinic Tuesday to Friday and every other Saturday. I provide Psychological services including counselling and behavioural and learning assessments. Please contact either practice for an appointment.

06.01.2022 Supporting kids during COVID-19

04.01.2022 Often I hear individuals tell me that they are generally tired and have a poor sleep routine. If you are an individual who has no difficulty with sleep, and you are able to fall asleep without issue, then continue with your current routine. However, if you or your children experience difficulty falling asleep, some of the following points may assist you to improve you sleep quality. Go to bed and wake up at the same time Dim the lights at least an hour before going to sl...eep- Including Electronic Screens Keep bed for sleeping only- no reading, eating or TV Not exercise 2 hours before going to sleep Relax before going to bed- could use lavender oil, mindfulness, progressive muscle relaxation Not fall asleep in front of the TV or outside of the bed Not engage in any conflict before going to bed Turn your digital clock to face away from you in bed Keep your room cool, and use warm blankets to maintain temperature Limit caffeine intake during the day, particularly late afternoon Drink warm milk, chamomile tea, peppermint tea when you are having trouble sleeping Charge your iPhone/iPad in another room Not check your email/facebook etc. if you go to the bathroom during the night Have a sleep time routine and maintain it, even over weekends and during school holidays Avoid backlit devices at least an hour prior to sleep time I wish everyone a safe, happy and restful Christmas and New Year. People may appear brave and stable on the outside, but we can never know what individuals are feeling on the inside or how it may impact their behaviours.
