24.01.2022 I have been reading up on polarity in connection with ceramics, polarity being the balance between male and female energy. If they are in balance you have polarity, the blending of opposites to form a harmonious whole. Concerning my pottery as seen in these bowls, the inside or female dominates with colour and vibrancy but the outside or male aspect is mundane. I must look further into this further ...

16.01.2022 The last load of pots produced some interesting results. It was a long firing and the Shino pots liked it. I am sampling a new ash glaze as well. Who can tell the difference? Colour from slips underneath the glaze ‘maketh the pot’. Watch out for my next Open Studio in August.

06.01.2022 Getting there on this cold night ... student work, a dinner set order and lots of first application test glazes ... 3 shinos, an ask glaze and a crackle glaze. Now the wait until opening. Wish me luck!!!

04.01.2022 Luckily noticed the disintegrating kiln stilt before I loaded the kiln. Replaced and good to go. Turned shelves around as well even bout the intense heat near burners.
