As oral health practitioners, we believe its critical we play our part in maintaining these services so that our health system can cope with what may lie ahead. 19.01.2022 Waiting until your child has a full set of teeth before they visit the dentist for the first time might seen sensible, but the general rule of thumb is that this visit should happen by 12 months old or when their first tooth becomes visible. Early dental visits will help protect your child from tooth decay by educating you on what you need to do keep their healthy. The need for this is increasingly important with tooth decay among children on the rise, with more than half of all 6 year olds having some decay in their baby and adult teeth, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.

14.01.2022 It's been a tough few weeks for all Australians as we've each played our role to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Thank-you for being patient with us as we've implemented the restrictions required by Government and relevant authorities to help keep everyone healthy and safe. This has limited our services in recent weeks to urgent and essential treatments only, but we are happy to let you know restrictions are being eased by the Government and Australian Dental Association an...d we're now able to attend to a broader range of patient needs. From Monday 27th April we're again taking appointments for a range of important preventative and other treatments, among them examinations, some fillings, non-surgical extractions, denture procedures and orthodontic treatments. This is in addition to being available to support any emergency dental needs. Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our patients and employees. We continue to implement a number of standard and COVID-19 specific measures to help minimise the risk of exposure within the practice. We hope this information provides you with reassurance that we're taking the right precautions, and ready to welcome you back into the practice for more of your dental care needs. 12.01.2022 Our visiting dentist Dr Andrew Cole is here this week. Dr Andrew Cole was always interested in working in the health industry. For a man who likes a challenge, dentistry offered a complex, evolving field that gave him opportunities to help people and change perceptions of what it means to go to the dentist. Dr Cole says he enjoys the flexibility of practising general dentistry, noting the wide range of treatment options available for helping patients. But his absolute favo...urite part of dentistry is probably the people he gets to meet and the relationships he builds with them while delivering important care. Dr Cole feels strongly about helping people keep all of their teeth for life and is passionate about educating his patients and making their visits as comfortable as possible. Aside from dentistry, Dr Cole has a keen interest in Rugby Union, explaining that it has always been a big part of his life. 06.01.2022 Did you know we have a visiting Periodontist?! Dr Chris Barker worked in government and private practice for a number of years before completing a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry, specialising in Periodontology at Griffith University in 2014. Chris was awarded a grant from the Australian Periodontology Research Foundation for his doctoral research which was an investigation of bone and modifying factors of bone resorption and bone production. He is an admitted fellow of the R...oyal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and has completed the Long Surgical Course Certification from Implant Team International (ITI). Chris lives in Brisbane with his wife and three young children. He enjoys getting outdoors and has a keen interest in rugby, BBQs and mountain trekking.
