24.01.2022 This is the work bench! With pastels you can blend colours into one another, but you can’t create them like you can with paint and the 3 primary colours! So it can be an expensive exercise collecting all the colours. This isn’t even close to all of them either, but I’ll get there. 18.01.2022 Well this seems like it has taken an age. This is a collage of Eddie Vedder from the early Pearl Jam days to recently playing live at Lollapalooza in Brazil (2018), if you haven’t watched it do yourself a favour and jump on YouTube and watch the whole concert. I put some lyrics on the painting to hopefully bring the viewer in for a closer look and read the iconic verses. Can’t wait to see it framed.... 12.01.2022 Check out this Mercedes AGM C63s, V8 twin turbo beast. There were so many lines, angles, colours and reflections in this drawing. It was a challenge that’s for sure. I was lucky enough to be there for them unveiling by Greeny, it was an awesome Father’s Day dinner yesterday. So a few weeks ago I’ve got the Merc finished an just about to head off to get it framed when out of no where Lucy jumps onto the back seat and is sitting squarely on top of the drawing wagging her tale. If you have any idea about pastel drawing (it’s basically chalk), you’d know this isn’t exactly a good thing. Needless to say it didn’t get to the framers this day and it took some extra hours fixing it up again, but I’m stoked with the end result. The badges will be going on the inside of the frame at the base of the art. Should look Mickey

10.01.2022 These are the colours being used today. Pastels are’nt like paint obviously, but they can be blended or merged into another colour by blending and there’s lots of that happening in this next piece of art I’m working on. I can’t wait to show it to you all, it’s looking pretty amazing, even if I don’t say so myself. If you want something special as a gift that no one would expect, then maybe I can help out, PM!

07.01.2022 I’m looking forward to drawing another piece similar to this. It’s a style I would like to develop further and hopefully hold a showing with. You can see in the photo the soft pastel is caked on, and there’s deliberate stokes put down hurriedly so not to overthink it, in doing so it takes on a style of it’s own. I’ve got a tough one next, I’ve been putting it off but hopefully will make a start today, stay tuned!

06.01.2022 It was awesome seeing the response of Maree and Shane opening their present Xmas day. Their children Nathan, Hannah and Ryan, and daughter in law Natasha commissioned me to draw a portrait of their much loved dog ‘Buddy’ who passed away recently. It was lump in your throat stuff, very emotional. Makes it all worth it especially when you’re worried if they will like it or not.

Trust me, you cannot beat art as a gift, so with Xmas coming up you had better get in and book a spot.
