24.01.2022 Today is the day! From today, eligible drink containers can be returned for a 10c refund. Find your nearest refund point and more info about WA's container deposit scheme at www.containersforchange.com.au/wa

23.01.2022 A major safety upgrade has now been completed at the busy intersection of Charles Street, Green Street, Walcott Street and Wanneroo Road and Wiluna Street. These intersections are used by thousands of people daily and these safety upgrades will make a big difference to locals by improving safety and reducing congestion - which means getting home safer and more time at home with the family!

23.01.2022 Congratulations to Shairah - winner of my colouring in competition! So many great entries from talented local artists

22.01.2022 Massive news this morning

22.01.2022 ABS figures released this week show that WA's economy is again outperforming the rest of Australia. Only a McGowan Government will keep WA strong.

22.01.2022 Today I had the absolute honour of joining the Gopal family at their home in Joondanna as they celebrated Diwali! Thank you for the invite and beautiful lunch and Happy Diwali!

21.01.2022 Great conversations and lovely coffee yesterday at my Coffee Catch Up at Caffe Amaretto! As your local Member for Balcatta, I think it's important to hear your feedback and to provide support and assistance. I'll be at Johnny’s CAFE tomorrow 10:00am. Come along, no appointment needed!

21.01.2022 Couldn't have said it better!

13.01.2022 My office has recently become a Planet Ark collection point for used printer cartridges! As part of their Cartridges 4 Planet Ark program, Planet Ark is recycling printer cartridges and soft plastics into road surfacing material called Tonerplas. To date, almost 2000kms of TonerPlas roads have been laid across Australia and for every one-kilometre section of two-lane local asphalt road, five tonnes of TonerPlas is used which equates to 530,000 plastic bags and waste toner from 12,300 cartridges. Drop your used or old printer cartridges in the donation box at my office and help convert waste into valuable asphalt for building roads!

13.01.2022 Thank you to all of WA's firefighters who work so incredibly hard to keep us safe.

12.01.2022 Premier Mark McGowan has announced some important changes for exemptions to travel into Western Australia.

11.01.2022 With the new northbound lane on the Mitchell Freeway open, we are now one step closer to creating Perth's second CBD - the Stirling City Centre! Driving around our local area, it's been impossible to miss the incredible amount of work going on to upgrade our local roads and intersections. All these upgrades mean safer roads and less congestion, which means more time at home for local families.

11.01.2022 Another win for the local community! A few months ago, residents in Stirling contacted me with growing concern that a turning arrow needs to be installed at the intersection of Karrinyup Road, Grindleford Drive and San Remo Boulevard. After discussions with Transport Minister Rita Saffioti and Main Roads WA, traffic modelling was done and a right turn arrow was given the 'green light'.... I am proud to deliver on this local upgrade. It might be a small change, but it will make a big difference.

10.01.2022 Lovely sunny morning for a Coffee Catch Up followed by a door knock in Balcatta! If you missed my coffee catch ups this week, I’m always happy to make time for an appointment in my office. Message me here or ring the office on 9207 1538.

08.01.2022 Catching up with members of Young Labor ahead of the state election campaign down at 43 Below Bar & Restaurant I remember when I was a member of Young Labor not that long ago....

08.01.2022 Today is National Police Remembrance Day. Thank you to the police men and women who we have lost and to those who continue to serve and keep our community safe.

08.01.2022 I've been out door knocking this afternoon and locals have been telling me how thankful they are to live in WA. Mark McGowan has kept WA safe and strong and has always worked in the best interest of West Australians.

06.01.2022 The rain didn’t stop my mobile office in Joondanna yesterday!

06.01.2022 An important update from the Premier regarding an evolving situation off the West Australian coast.

05.01.2022 Thank you to Balcatta FC and Trilogy Catering for hosting my Community Morning Tea last week! I love holding these events as I believe it is important to listen to our community. I have one more coffee catch up next week before Parliament sits again. Join me if you can! https://davidmichael.com.au/events

05.01.2022 A re-elected McGowan Labor Government will reinstate the Seniors’ Safety and Security Rebate, assisting seniors to purchase security equipment for their home. Every Western Australian deserves to feel safe in their home, especially seniors. I am proud to be a member of Mark McGowan’s team, working to deliver for Balcatta seniors and keep WA safe and strong.

04.01.2022 Information on WA's transition to a controlled border tomorrow

04.01.2022 You may have seen the front cover of today's Stirling Times about the anti-Islamic flyer in Tuart Hill letterboxes. I don't want to give these racist views any more attention so I won't share any images or text from the flyer. One of the best things about Australia is our vibrant and harmonious multicultural society, which has benefited from immigration. Racism like this is offensive to all Australians. I don't know if there are more flyers in circulation, but I'd urge anyone who receives one of these offensive flyers to put it straight in the bin.

03.01.2022 I was so impressed by the thoughtfulness of students at Osborne PS in my Remembrance Day colouring competition - so I wrote them a note to say thank you.

03.01.2022 An important update from Premier Mark McGowan on travel arrangements with South Australia.

03.01.2022 Want to be in the running to win this Mark McGowan tee AND re-elect a McGowan Government? Enter my raffle davidmichael.com.au/raffle

03.01.2022 It’s a bit of a wet day for the Main Street Cooperation’s Spring Fair, but it is still on! Head down to the Osborne Agricultural Hall and join in their gardener’s cashless swap-meet.

03.01.2022 Enjoy your long weekend!

03.01.2022 Probably one of the best texts you can get. Thanks for sharing, Bianca! PS. Plenty of free shopping bags available to pick up from my office!

01.01.2022 How awesome is this giant swan?! It's made out of 10,000 containers... the amount that WA uses every 4 minutes! There is only one week until Containers for Change WA launches. This means you'll be able to get 10 cents back for each drink container and start making real environmental change. Check out containersforchange.com.au/wa/where-to-return to see your nearest donation point.

01.01.2022 This morning I joined Police Minister Michelle Roberts MLA - Member for Midland to announce that local Balcatta company Alcolizer Technology has been chosen to deliver preliminary breath testing equipment for WA Police operations. This is a great win for a local Balcatta business and the WA Police! More here: http://www.davidmichael.com.au/alcolizer
