22.01.2022 As a local resident I was able to take part in Clean up your patch in our ward ( within my 5 k circle) Great work Red Hill in the 6 kilometres of our tracks and roadside I picked up only 1 bag of rubbish and was also able to pick some broken signs. 17.01.2022 We have all made the choice to live in this environment and rural setting. Our Ward provides opportunities for flexible working arrangements, trades and home-based businesses. It provides for a wide range of educational, sporting, recreational/leisure, cultural, commercial and retail facilities opportunities for all residents. The Green Wedge plays a crucial role in maintaining the remaining regional (non metropolitan) areas, and this must be protected, but not at the expense... of future planning. We should be encouraging the development of farm gate experiences and small local cottage style industry, encourage the use of local produce in through the region and reflect who we are. We must plan for tomorrow, and part of that may include the responsible development of commercial enterprise and community facilities, but ensured that it is appropriate development and it is in appropriate locations. 10.01.2022 For those of you who have not yet voted, A friendly reminder that your ballots need to be in on or before Friday 23rd Oct ( that's next Friday ). I would like to ask you if you have not yet voted to ensure that you make an informed decision, not an emotive one in casting your ballot. I have no conflicts of interests, I am an independent, local resident standing in the ward that I live in. Despite the difficult times we are all experiencing, especially our young people, youn...g families and the elderly, things will improve, times will get better for all of us. But we will need strong pragmatic and analytical leadership to see us through covid recovery and to plan for the future. My family who I am enormously proud are young independent adults, and who work in law and the dramatic arts. which means i have the time to passionately drive my commitment to serving my community, our community. 10.01.2022 There are a countless areas that our council have simply failed to adequately plan for. This includes: No plan for the management of the growing visitor economy, no plan for how our infrastructure will cope with this growing market segment, no plan for how we manage the impact on our Ward and our towns and villages within it. A prime example of this can be found in the ongoing car parking issues on our major roads, because we have inadequate parking available.... And we need real forward planning and real decisions made now, to ensure that our local economy is fit and ready to not just recover from COVID-19, but prosper in the years ahead.
