25.01.2022 With group A and B votes counted the numbers for Mahoneys Ward are as follows: Nildhara Gadani 1,340 David Coombs 1,647 Anne Verma Makhijani 1,861... Mark Lane 2,309 Jason Martin 1991 Nildhara has conceded as her preferences will be distributed first, and my own chances of winning are slim. I’m humbled by the level of support I’ve received and am very thankful for those who have given me advice. The first attempt at council is often unsuccessful; there are over 1,600 residents of the ward who have given me their vote and regardless of the outcome of the election I will continue to work for our community. 08.01.2022 With the election over it's now down to the counting. For Mahoneys Ward the initial count of all group A ballots (those received by Friday the 23rd) will take place on Wednesday the 28th, and will provide a count of only the first preferences (who you gave your #1 vote to). The second count of group B ballots (all postal ballots received by Friday the 30th) will take place after November the 2nd. This will involve a recount of the primary vote and then distribute preferences.... We're a few weeks away from knowing who has won a seat on council to represent Mahoneys ward and I'll post updates here as I get them.
