25.01.2022 Leader of the Opposition (QLD) Member for Broadwater

25.01.2022 Momentum is building for our push for more police for the Northern Gold Coast and to relocate the suburb of Hope Island from the expanding Coomera region to the established Runaway Bay Station. Thanks for those who have phoned and emailed. We’ll have more in the days ahead on how you can join our campaign.

25.01.2022 Team Broadwater out in force this weekend and hungry to be part of the change that Queensland needs to get the State working again.

24.01.2022 Another day encouraging Queenslanders to support Queenslanders during a trying time for tourism. This time in Townsville urging people to consider a day on the water by supporting businesses like Adrenalin Dive. I’m also urging interstate visitors to keep the faith and not cancel their bookings after more good news out of Sydney today.... Dale Last - Member for Burdekin

24.01.2022 A great addition to a great club. The official opening of the new viewing deck at the Runaway Bay Soccer Club. Cr Cameron Caldwell

22.01.2022 There’s a strong environmental reason behind my fight for more resources and better laws to stop people living on illegal boats on our Broadwater. Ocean Crusaders will spend this week picking up rubbish throughout this amazing stretch of the coast. Sadly, a large amount of this is discarded rubbish from those vessel owners who thumb their nose at us all and illegally live on the water. Many don’t collect their effluent while others are using the foreshore as their own tip f...ace. We’ve all had enough. I support the war on wrecks but how about clamping down on those wrecking our environment before these boats disintegrate into the ocean? The LNPs position is clear. We will end the buck passing between the different State Government agencies and provide the resources to fix this mess once and for all. Our environment demands it. Thanks to Stuart Robert MP for helping to fund this worthy group. They do a mountain of good work. See more

21.01.2022 A month since the election and Labor’s already broken its promise. Despite promising only $4 billion in additional borrowings, they’re now borrowing $28 billion; that’s 7 times more than what was originally mandated. Queensland is headed for $130 billion in debt and 214,000 Queenslanders are out of work.

21.01.2022 I will be nominating to lead the Parliamentary LNP - Liberal National Party

19.01.2022 The blame game in the Nerang State Forest must end. An LNP Government will: Guarantee no removal of existing trails Immediately release the Nerang Forest audit report in full... Partner with the GC Mountain Bike Club & riders to determine a way to expand the network in our first 100 days of Government Thanks Kirsten Jackson - LNP for Gaven for leading the charge.

19.01.2022 Please sign our petition for more police for Broadwater and the transfer of the suburb of Hope Island out of the fast growing Coomera District into the Runaway Bay Police Station. Sign the petition here https://bit.ly/31loQQt

19.01.2022 The thin blue line is stretched to its limit and senior officers are worried they'll soon lose the streets. Our city and our State need change if we are to get on top of law and order.

19.01.2022 Promises made should be promises kept. Just weeks ago in the shadow of an election, the State Government committed to borrowing an additional $4 billion which would take our total debt to $106 billion. Should the government use today’s budget to increase debt beyond what it has pledged, it is nothing more than a broken promise to use the credit card to keep the lights on. ... Borrowings must create assets for the long-term benefit of Queenslanders not put fuel in cars and pens on desks. It is the equivalent of asking the bank for a loan to buy groceries and a holiday at Christmas. The Budget should be an occasion to seize new opportunities. It should be a time to energise both new and established industries so that Queensland is better prepared to face the challenges ahead in our hour of need. Confidence today could mean the difference between a small business throwing in the towel or soldiering on. Now is the time to build for the future not borrow for today. In my budget reply speech on Thursday I will highlight those things that have merit, the economic inconsistencies around our expenditure and put forward the values that will drive us as an opposition and as a future Government. What we won’t do is give the Government a budget blank cheque to break their bond. An election victory provides a mandate to deliver your word, not a free pass to break a promise barely a month old after earning the valued trust of the people you promised to serve.

19.01.2022 15 years ago we met a young footballer who just moved to Townsville. Little did we know he’d turn out to be a Queensland legend long after his playing days ended. Thanks for giving hope to young kids.... Johnathan Thurston Academy Amanda Camm - Member for Whitsunday

17.01.2022 Broadwater is a great place to live but we are not immune to crime. That’s why I’m campaigning for more police for Runaway Bay Station, the suburb of Hope Island to be transferred into our area from the overflowing Coomera Police District and tougher laws for repeat offenders. Sign the petition here https://bit.ly/31loQQt

16.01.2022 Back in Parliament House where today it begins. I’ll be here representing 34,000 people in the Broadwater electorate and also advocating for over 5 million Queenslanders who deserve a forceful, yet constructive, opposition. Can’t wait for Question Time.... David Janetzki MP - Deputy Leader

16.01.2022 Yet another break in from a hard working business. Here’s my three solutions I’m taking forward to next month’s election to tackle this problem. 1 More police (the northern GC has exploded and needs more boots on the ground) 2 Tougher laws (the revolving door of our youth justice system must end) 3 Smarter deployment of resources (Hope Island should be patrolled by the Runaway Bay Station not the overstretched Coomera one) This is a fight we must win. LOCA Cafe

15.01.2022 More police, tougher laws and transferring Hope Island from the over-stretched Coomera district to the Runaway Bay Station is needed immediately to make our area safer.

15.01.2022 It’s an environmental disgrace and it’s happening on our Broadwater. We need more clarity in our laws and better resources to stop those people illegally living on boats and using our foreshore as their own private tip. Ocean Crusaders

15.01.2022 We’ve been blown away by the response to our community document shred day but there’s an environmental success story to go with the community safety one. Watch to find out more.

15.01.2022 The state’s Treasurer likes to compare Queensland with NSW. Here’s a comparison. The Queensland Government borrowing $28 billion could be justified were it spent on infrastructure and jobs for years to come, instead our state’s net worth will increase by only $150 million.... New South Wales however, is borrowing $62 billion but will increase its state worth by $30 billion in just four years. This Government is borrowing to pay for every day expenses. David Janetzki MP Jarrod Bleijie MP

15.01.2022 In 2019 Runaway Bay was the first club team to field a girls side in the GC competition. This year, the goal is for three. If you have a daughter who is keen on the sport contact 55290333 or visit www.runawaybaycricketclub.com.au A good mood at this morning’s come and try day.

13.01.2022 We’ll keep this government honest and prove we’re the best and only choice for an alternate government.

12.01.2022 The first sign-on for the season for Runaway Bay Baseball Club. Happy to pitch for support for this great family club.

12.01.2022 FREE DOCUMENT SHREDDING THIS SATURDAY. Identity theft is a real risk in the modern world. If you’ve got documents you need to dispose of but you’re worried about their contents, we’ve teamed up with Neighbourhood Watch and Shred-X to offer this free service. This Saturday between 9-12 you can come to the Broadwater electorate office at 340 Hope Island Road to drop off your financial reports, x-rays or any confidential documents. I’ll be on site to discuss any issue you’re keen to raise.

11.01.2022 The Paradise Point Bowls Club is treading water through the challenging COVID period. Now thousands of dollars in theft and damage from these low life criminals. We need more police and tougher laws and we need them now. If you recognise them or their distinctive shoes, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 Paradise Point Bowls Club

10.01.2022 There's white hot anger over the botched upgrade of Exit 57 this morning. From the beginning we raised concerns from residents that this band-aid solution wouldn't work. Mark Boothman MP, Theodore and I will continue to fight for a proper solution to fix this mess.

09.01.2022 A sign of things to come.

04.01.2022 PRESS CONFERENCE: Jobs and a credible economic future for Queenslanders

04.01.2022 Amidst the cruelty of a girl called Sarah not being able to say goodbye to her dad and the retirement of some very good parliamentarians, the Palaszczuk Government rushed through a finance bill that will make our recovery from Covid so much more difficult. We head into an election in less than 50 days with the State Government refusing to hand down a budget and tabling a flimsy 41 page glossy document that both business groups and unions have condemned. We desperately need change on October 31 to an LNP government that will reinvigorate agriculture, build dams, bust congestion and get on top of the law and order issues threatening community safety. Below is my contribution in the parliament before debate was guillotined by the treasurer with dozens of speakers prevented from having their say

04.01.2022 Voting today from 9:00am at Runaway Bay Community Centre, Lae Drive. Look for the blue trailer.

03.01.2022 Rob Reid is the proud owner of NewsExtra in Toowoomba. He’s been employing locals for over 23 years! Next week, the government is handing down a Budget.... 02.01.2022 LIVE from Parliament House With wild weather on the way, Queenslanders need to be prepared. 02.01.2022 Over the next four years, our team’s focus will be about jobs and the economy. What we asked of the government today was a target to ensure Queensland’s current unemployment queue of 214,000 is significantly reduced. Queensland needs to be the best in the nation, because the quality of our people and natural resources gives every reason why we should always be number one.

01.01.2022 Press conference LIVE from Toowoomba with Deputy Leader David Janetzki MP and local small business owner, Rob Reid.
