23.01.2022 Lizzie Blandthorn, Labor Chair of the Labor dominated Public Accounts and Estimates Committee, in today’s hearing, sought to demand that questions be provided in advance in future! This is a serious attack on democracy. An autocratic Andrews Government is running scared of questions about its project budget blowouts. Now Labor wants to vet Opposition questions at hearings before they are asked! Arrogant; undemocratic! The Transport Capital Project List 2019 / 2020 can be found here: https://bit.ly/3bzXFGJ

22.01.2022 Daniel Andrews’ latest cash grab is to whack a new tax on Victorian personalised number plates. Hidden deep in Labor’s Transport Legislation Amendment Bill 2020 is an unfair and unnecessary tax on Victorians who choose to personalise their vehicles with customised number plates. This is just another example of Daniel Andrews trying to squeeze every last dollar out of hardworking Victorians who have already suffered through Labor’s second wave of coronavirus.... The Liberal Nationals will oppose Labor’s new tax on customised number plates. It’s just another unfair tax from what is already the highest taxing government in Australia.

22.01.2022 Labor’s budget borrows more than any in Victorian history. But one area has been singled out for cuts: the anti-corruption commission and Parliament’s oversight committees. The Premier denies it but the truth is there in black and white - Labor is muzzling Victoria’s anti-corruption and oversight bodies.

21.01.2022 Daniel Andrews has got very serious questions to answer. He promised Victorians he had never discussed an individual planning matter with developer John Woodman and yet the evidence before Victoria’s corruption watchdog tells a different story. The Premier needs to come clean. Victorians cannot afford to have a Premier who is compromised. ... It’s time for IBAC to call the Premier and get him to answer questions under oath. Let's hope he doesn’t have the same amnesia that he had before the Coate inquiry, because Victorians deserve the truth.

18.01.2022 Celebrating 40 years of freedom 40 years ago today homosexuality was decriminalised in Victoria, by the Liberals, and in 2014 the Liberals also enabled historical convictions for homosexual acts to be expunged. I’m proud to have played my part in this important reform. SENTENCING AMENDMENT (HISTORICAL HOMOSEXUAL CONVICTIONS EXPUNGEMENT) BILL 2014... 15 October 2014 Legislative Council Hon. D. M. DAVIS (Minister for Health) -- I move: That the bill be read a third time. In doing so I thank honourable members for their contributions, and I thank other parties for their support for this bill. I acknowledge the support of key groups in developing the bill. I acknowledge particularly the contribution of Clem Newton-Brown, the member for Prahran in the Assembly, in this process. I wish to make a minor personal reflection. My predecessor in the old East Yarra Province was Haddon Storey, who was Attorney-General in the Hamer Government at the time that homosexuality was decriminalised in Victoria. I regard the passing of this bill as a step in completing that process. This legislation will ensure that those who were charged and convicted under historical processes are now able, under this bill, to have a measure of justice and an outcome that I think everyone in this chamber believes is fair. Motion agreed to. Read third time.

17.01.2022 Victoria is lagging NSW on its COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Why? Daniel Andrews and his government botch every process they touch including it seems now Victoria's vaccine rollout. Given their failures on contact tracing and hotel quarantine- both still problems in Victoria- we urgently need the vaccine rollout.

15.01.2022 It’s been a long winter and a longer lockdown. Now it’s time to get out and enjoy all the wonders that Victoria has to offer. White sandy beaches. Rocky mountain hikes. Bushland full of wildlife and rainbow flora. Mountain biking trails. Winery trails. Rail trails. Wandering slowly trails. ... Great foodie nooks. Decks with a view. Picnic rugs with your favourite people. We have it all right here. That’s why, to kick-start Victorian tourism, our #BackToWork plan proposes: $400 million to develop and upgrade tourist attractions, $300 million to support regional tourism operators, and ‘Road Trip for Victoria’ vouchers. When we holiday at home we create jobs for our own. Our #BackToWork plan would help us reconnect with our beautiful state and each other - and support local tourism to get our economy pumping again. 14.01.2022 Labor should come clean on their new railway tax. Have your say on Labor’s planned new railway: https://bit.ly/3dCOUyt

12.01.2022 Victorian Upper House Opposition Leader David Davis says the Andrews government's budget does not provide the necessary targetted spending to kickstart the state's economy, arguing many of the projects will take decades to complete.

09.01.2022 Victorian Liberal MP David Davis says Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has tried to weasel his way out of responsibility though he is clearly one of the key architects in the states failed hotel quarantine program.

08.01.2022 Labor has proven again that it can’t manage taxpayers’ money. With only three months until the State Budget, the Treasury Department are no closer to understanding the growing cost blowouts on Victoria’s major projects under Labor. Labor's major projects have already blown out by more than $25 billion, with many more billions expected after problems with contaminated soil, workforce problems and overall government mismanagement.

05.01.2022 It’s time to move to a common sense position on masks in Victoria, and common sense dictates when you can’t socially distance - you wear a mask. If people are outside and if they're socially distanced, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have to force people to wear masks. We’re calling on the government to listen to the public health experts and ease some of the restrictions around masks.

01.01.2022 Less than three months after Standard & Poors downgraded its credit rating for Victoria two levels from AAA to AA, Moody’s has downgraded its credit rating for Victoria from AAA to AA1 and changed the outlook to ‘negative’. This means both major credit rating agencies have major concerns over the Andrews Labor Government’s mismanagement of the budget. A sad day for Victorians.

01.01.2022 Daniel Andrews’ delayed and over budget West Gate Tunnel Project has seen Labor cut corners on environmental protections and now - outrageously - stripped planning powers from Moorabool Shire. The Liberals and Nationals have proposed a motion to disallow the planning approval. We will seek the support of the Upper House to overturn the undemocratic and unsafe planning scheme amendment that would allow the dumping of toxic PFAS contaminated West Gate Tunnel spoil near the Bacc...hus Marsh township.
