25.01.2022 Statement from The Premiers Office STATEMENT FROM GLADYS BEREJIKLIAN AND BRAD HAZZARD Given the current situation on the Northern Beaches and increasing concern about transmission of COVID-19 in other parts of Greater Sydney (which includes Wollongong) new restrictions will be in place on New Year’s Eve. ... This decision has been made taking into account updated health advice from Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant. For New Year’s Eve in Greater Sydney (including Wollongong, Central Coast and Blue Mountains) the following will apply; Household gatherings will be limited to 5 visitors (including children). The limit for outdoor gatherings will be reduced from 50 to 30. Restrictions for the northern zone of the Northern Beaches remain the same but for the southern zone of the Northern Beaches the following will now apply; Household gatherings will be limited to 5 visitors from within your zone (including children). These changes come into effect from midnight tonight (Wednesday 30 December) and will be in place until further notice. People are encouraged to limit non-essential gatherings over the New Year period where possible to further minimise the risk of transmission in the community. We thank the community for their patience. Our priority is always to keep the community safe. We are watching the emerging situation closely and will update the community accordingly should any further changes be required. ENDS

24.01.2022 WARNING The NSW Liberal Government is planning on removing mobile speed camera warning signs in NSW. Speed camera warning signs are a crucial safety feature on our roads.... The NRMA has urged the Government to reconsider its decision and said signs are essential to educate drivers and prevent road deaths. Warnings for fixed speed cameras will remain in place. Drive to Survive principal Ian Luff told Ben Fordham it’s equivalent to a speeding tax. It’s a well-known fact that having signage out there draws attention to something and that changes driver behaviour. I just believe that taking those signs away, having concealed vehicles hidden on the sides of footpaths is an easy way for governments to raise revenue. https://www.2gb.com/call-it-what-it-is-removal-of-speed-ca/

13.01.2022 I say NO to a 10% Amalgamation Tax on local residents rates. The NSW Liberals idealogical obsession with merging Councils has led to a situation where merged Councils are financially broken. Now there is a plan to increase rates to prop up Central Coast Council's financial situation. ... Research has shown that in the three years since the 20 Councils were merged they have collectively lost $1.03 billion. Gladys Berejiklian has also been caught out spending money meant for merged Councils on Liberal seats before the last election. The Liberals will try to tell you Amalgamation isn't to blame but the facts say otherwise which is why I opposed merging the two Councils in 2016. Research from Queensland and Victoria demonstrated clearly that when Councils got too big they actually lost efficiencies and cost more to operate. I will oppose any attempt to charge higher rates to pay for the Liberals failed experiment. Our local residents can't afford it. https://theconversation.com/do-mergers-make-for-better-coun

03.01.2022 NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is exposing her poor judgement on a more regular basis. People have been forgiving her indiscretions because of Covid-19 but the NSW electorate needs to start scrutinising her performance more closely. Gladys record of "misjudgements" (List not exhaustive)... Sydney Light Rail massive cost blow-outs and delivery times for a transport mode which is slower and has less capacity than buses it was meant to replace. Failed Stadium plan and moving Powerhouse Museum. Parramatta ferries not fit for purpose. 'Poor relationship" blamed on not reporting potentially corrupt conduct even after ICAC announced investigation. Approving $250m in grants after "changing" guidelines and then SHREDDING all associated documents and WIPING hard drives. Cutting the wages of frontline health workers, nurses, police, ambulance, teachers and other public sector workers in a pandemic. Failing to act on iCare Workers Compensation debacle. Failing to discipline Police Minister who impersonated a Police Officer. Promising no more privatisations before the election then after the election proposing privatisations. Failing to follow her own Covid-19 testing protocols. Crows about transport projects being on time and on budget and then the next day sacks the transport Chief because of transport blow-outs and time delays?? Has shonky land deals referred to ICAC and seemingly cancels Stage 2 Parramatta Light Rail. Has Ministers in open conflict in regards protecting Koalas, Energy policy including members of her own team crossing the floor to vote with the Opposition. When do people start adding up the cost of these "poor" decisions, mistruths and blatant mismanagement? https://www.smh.com.au//berejiklian-admits-to-breaking-cov
