20.01.2022 Today is #worldwaterday and this year the theme is to do with water & climate change, as both are interconnected. As a membership organisation for local governm...ent we know how essential water management is for local and rural communities. Currently, access to essential and reliable water and wastewater services is at risk in many rural communities, directly impacting the health of households and community livability. We are proposing that the Queensland Government invests $500M over 5 years in a program of dedicated funding support to address water quality, water security and wastewater management needs of Queensland’s rural and remote councils. At this time however, our number one priority should be to keep our families and community safe and healthy. As result, I will not be handing out ‘How to Vote’ cards on election day.
