03.01.2022 What an absolute disgrace! After federal pollies have dragged their heels for decades on reconciliation the Turnbull government have decided to reject the first popular, straight forward approach to making some sorely needed headway. This decision can only be described as racist. Bigots in Turnbull's cabinet will accept nothing more than patronizing tokenism and that fact, today, could be no clearer. I can't believe for a second that even the most simple-minded of Turnbull's ministers truly regard the proposal for an advisory body issuing non-binding advise to be a 'radical' idea. This really makes my blood boil. I can't begin to imagine what our first peoples make of it.
01.01.2022 Abuse can take many forms and the warning signs are not always easy to recognize - but sometimes they are. The government cashless welfare card scheme appears to trigger no fewer than four of the government's own financial abuse warning signs. When added to facts that no clear benefit to the scheme has yet been established and the massive cost of implementation this hardly reads as a ringing endorsement of the policy.
