25.01.2022 Election promises to spend money on this or that project are one thing, but secret funds set up before an election to be doled out to support government held seats is another and should be ruled out. No extra money for ICAC: Premier Watchdog to miss out on $7.3m as Premier defends practice of pork-barrelling. http://www.smh.com.au//berejiklian-backs-away-from-icac-fu

24.01.2022 Where is Council's pride Following on from my recent vow to maintain the median at Long Jetty, I have been contacted by many concerned residents who are also embarrassed by the Central Coast Council's lack of pride in our region.

24.01.2022 Council will consider a report on land sale tonight. My position on land at The Entrance which had been set aside for affordable housing: it should be removed from the list. The current housing crisis on the Coast means we need homes built and this site could be an important part of that process.

22.01.2022 LISAROW COMMUTERS WIN A WHOLE LOT OF PARKING The final design for the Lisarow Station upgrade will see parking spaces increase from 25 to 63. A fantastic win for local commuters !

22.01.2022 Grab some local seafood this weekend!

20.01.2022 Jim & Judith have been evicted from their current private rental property. Judith is currently receiving treatment for cancer and they have applied for priority housing only to be placed on the wait list. Unfortunately, here is another couple who have fallen through the cracks because there is not enough social housing on the Central Coast. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE.

20.01.2022 A Central Coast resident returning from overseas as tested positive for COVID-19 while in quarantine. Please see advice below and follow the rules

20.01.2022 It’s official, I’m a Terrigal Trotter! Another great run this morning before things heat up. Thanks Trotters!

17.01.2022 500 SIGNATURES FOR BROOKE AVE FOOTPATH Council often has different priorities to what our community needs and wants. That is why locals like Maria Pyros, have petitioned Central Coast Council to increase the priority ranking of a footpath near Brooke Avenue Public School.... I look forward to receiving a response from Central Coast Council and will continue to fight for pedestrian safety in our community.

15.01.2022 Working from home has been very good for our region. The LNP Government today voted down a bill which would have supported working from home for public servants. My view on the bill.... https://spaces.hightail.com//19-11-2020%20LA_Genb_Mehan_Go

14.01.2022 Parliament last week. I gave notice of two important issues in the electorate which I’ll be following up. 1. The LNP Government still hasn’t updated the Tuggerah Lakes Flood Plan.... 2. Businesses fined for breaking COVID-19 rules. Big fines ($5,000) have been issued. I’d prefer more compliance checks instead of over use of fines.

13.01.2022 The NSW Government has opened a number of Sports Grants. Regional Sport Facility Fund The fund will assist eligible organisations to develop quality core sport infrastructure that will meet the current and future needs of the community. Closes 26 February 2021. https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au//grants/regional-sport-facili ... Surf Club Facility Program The program aims to assist eligible Surf Life Saving Clubs throughout NSW to develop facilities that will enable increased facility usage, improve safety and increase participation in Surf Life Saving. Closes 3 March 2021. https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au/clubs/grants/SCFP Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program The program provides NSW sports clubs and councils the opportunity to acquire an AED package for their club or sports facility at a reduced cost. 11.01.2022 Parliamentary Friends of Seafood This is a bipartisan group I co-chair which aims to support our NSW seafood industry. Yesterday we met with representatives of Professional Fisher's Association of NSW, OceanWatch Australia, NSW Seafood Industry Council and Sydney Fish Market.

08.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOAST & CO Congratulations to Toast & Co at The Entrance, who have just celebrated their 2nd birthday this week. This local cafe makes an excellent coffee along with fabulous food . During the lockdown they even thought outside the box and made takeaway dinners to remain trading. ... So happy to support this fantastic local business! Make sure to buy local!

03.01.2022 I couldn’t take it any more. At this time of year and with more people visiting our region due to border closures we should be showing visitors our best ‘face’ - instead all they get is weeds. I mowed the median at Long Jetty today because Central Coast Council won’t.... It’s took me an hour and a half as the weeds were so high. And I want to do something about the weeds around the edges but it looks better. I’ll maintain this spot until Council gets its act together.

02.01.2022 Last sitting day (maybe?) and I’m filling in for the whip. Budget and Electricity Bills to go through. Government has advised it won’t accept the Legislative Council amendment which gives more money to ICAC and we will vote on that. ... Everyone except the LNP government believes ICAC needs more $.

01.01.2022 Fire and Rescue Wyoming were deployed locally and across the state during the bush fire season. Their bravery deserves to be recognised and remembered Thank you for your service
