24.01.2022 The Alfred Hospital is falling apart with a leaky roof, flooded surgical theatres and cracked walls. The Australian Medical Association’s (AMA) Victoria Branch has called on the government to provide $2 billion for the redevelopment, citing the hospital as in the worst shape of Melbourne’s hospitals. The redevelopment of Alfred Health’s Prahran site should be a priority for next week’s State Budget.
23.01.2022 Labor's state budget has failed to address Victoria’s jobs crisis and deliver immediate jobs. Under Labor, the majority of those without a job today are likely to remain without one for at least three years
21.01.2022 Daniel Andrews’ delayed and over budget West Gate Tunnel Project has seen Labor cut corners on environmental protections and now - outrageously - stripped planning powers from Moorabool Shire. The Liberals and Nationals have proposed a motion to disallow the planning approval. We will seek the support of the Upper House to overturn the undemocratic and unsafe planning scheme amendment that would allow the dumping of toxic PFAS contaminated West Gate Tunnel spoil near the Bacc...hus Marsh township. 10.01.2022 As part of our Realistic Roadmap, the Victorian Liberals believe the Mornington Peninsula be treated as 'regional Victoria' for the purposes of easing restrictions. The Bellarine Peninsula is regarded as regional Victoria. Due to very low case numbers and geographic distance from Melbourne, I believe that the Mornington Peninsula should be treated the same. Unfortunately, Premier Daniel Andrews refuses to agree with our proposal. Andrews wants to keep Mornington Peninsula and the Yarra Valley under metro Melbourne restrictions. I have No Confidence in Daniel Andrews to look out for our community. Add your name if you’ve also lost confidence at www.NoConfidence.com.au #NoConfidenceLabor
07.01.2022 The Victorian Liberal Nationals are calling on the Andrews Labor Government to give Victorian students and their families much needed financial relief by rolling over this year’s existing student myki cards for a free year of travel in 2021 for students in Year 11 and below, and provide a refund to students currently in Year 12. This year’s school year has been interrupted with many students hardly attending face-to-face learning at all and with multiple student passes a significant outlay for many Victorian families. So many Victorian families are struggling financially due to Labor’s second wave of coronavirus, rolling over existing student mykis for a free year of travel in 2021 can be done immediately and is the least Daniel Andrews can do.
06.01.2022 Liberals set out plan for sooner, safer re-opening of Victoria Leading modellers have criticised Andrews’ restrictions as too stringent and leading epidemiologists have demanded tailored, precise, evidence-based responses, instead of Labor’s sledgehammer approach. Victorians have done the right thing, followed the rules and the numbers are down. ...Continue reading
03.01.2022 Labor’s budget borrows more than any in Victorian history. But one area has been singled out for cuts: the anti-corruption commission and Parliament’s oversight committees. The Premier denies it but the truth is there in black and white - Labor is muzzling Victoria’s anti-corruption and oversight bodies.
