24.01.2022 Being involved with Short Cuts has allowed me to expand my experience in a collaborative environment. Working with multiple teachers and students, Short Cuts fostered an environment for unity through the process of creating a short film. The different roles on-set has taught me to work more with others and understanding that as a creative, collaboration is important in so many ways. By having a team, you can focus on your specific skillset and strength and help others thrive ...in theirs. Short Cuts has allowed me to trust others in achieving the same goal. Personally, I have been working on a solo basis with clients, but seeing how teamwork is effective, my business has grown to have an editor and taking on a work experience student from the Short Cuts project. It has also taught me the importance of vision. What is the vision and how will we achieve this. As a creative, vision for projects are usually inside my head, but when working with a team, there needs to be an effective way to communicate your vision. In my business, I have implemented written processes to ensure the vision is not lost and can be handed over to an editor or filmmaker to ensure the vision is carried through. Being able to empower the next generation has always been my goal, to grow something bigger than myself and to impart my knowledge to the students of today that have a passion to thrive in the media industry. I believe the Fraser Coast has the potential to be a foundation on what meaningful media looks like, to set a new standard when it comes to storytelling to an audience. I am excited to help grow the media industry in the Fraser Coast and Short Cuts has been one way to allow me to do this. See more

We met Claude at Bayaroma Cafe Hervey Bay as he was pushing his mower to raise funds for Bravehearts... For the last 13 years (5 months a year) he has been travelling around Australia collecting donations to help prevent child sexual assault and exploitation in our society.
