06.01.2022 You may have noticed The Australian Business Register (ABR) has been upgraded. It now links users to ASIC’s new business name registration service which replaced state and territory systems on 28 May 2012. Business names registered with ASIC from 28 May 2012 will appear in the ABR and ABN Lookup. If your business name was registered before 28 May 2012 on a state or territory register, your business name will be automatically transferred to the ASIC business names register. If you want it to appear in the ABN Lookup, you will need to provide your ABN to ASIC. You can find the latest information on the ASIC website by visiting www.asic.gov.au.
