25.01.2022 Now you see it, soon you wont. Demolition works have started at the Repat, making way for a new Town Square and Veterans Wellbeing Centre. Our vision of a thriving health precinct at the Repat is taking shape and will deliver better services for South Australians.... The total project budget for the Repat Phase 2 works is more than $80 million and will create about 400 local jobs. This is yet another step in the re-opening and renewal of our beloved Repat.

24.01.2022 We are focused on real, practical measures to deal with climate change in South Australia. I wrote a piece for InDaily about what were doing as a government and why this practical approach is the best approach. I strongly encourage you to read it here: http://bit.ly/InDailyOpinion

24.01.2022 Glenthorne National Park is coming to life and as it does, were leaving this legacy to our future generations. We have developed a schools partnership to get local students onto this land to plant trees that theyll be able to watch grow over time. 22.01.2022 Last summers devastating bushfires have reinforced just how important prescribed burning is in helping to reduce the risk of bushfires and also reinvigorating bushland ecology. The spring prescribed burns have now begun, and the Department for Environment and Water and the CFS are working together to ensure South Australia is as prepared as possible for the upcoming bushfire season. 22.01.2022 Due to the improving situations across the border we are reinstating a 40km travel buffer for border communities from Friday, assuming the situation doesnt worsen between now and then. Private gatherings will go back to a 50 person limit. Transiting via Sydney and Canberra airports will no longer require 14 days of self quarantine, if youve travelled from a state where border restrictions are not in place.... The border restrictions with NSW and the ACT are being closely monitored and we hope to make further announcements on this soon.

22.01.2022 Im so proud of South Australias school kids. These students are learning so much about waste management in our state and putting that knowledge into practice. That includes after the school bell rings, teaching their families about the importance of and how to recycle! Keep up the good work Rose Park Primary!

22.01.2022 A feel good Friday hooded plover update! The hoodies on Seacliff Beach are proud parents of two growing chicks! After the devastating loss of two eggs days away from hatching earlier this season, mum and partner welcomed three hatchlings (though sadly the third hasn’t been seen for a while). Check out these beautiful photos, one of Mum brooding her babies and the other of a chick on the run. These little ones should learn to fly by 5 weeks old, around 3 December. For now, t...hey’re roaming the beach and living their best life! thanks to BirdLife Australia volunteers Brian Wilson and Mary James.

20.01.2022 Wednesday 16 September is Plover Appreciation Day! This is a worldwide day that began in Australia to celebrate our beloved plovers and raise awareness of what we can do to help protect this threatened species. I love our hooded plovers and this year there are three pairs nesting on our metro beaches at Seacliff, West Beach and Henley Beach! I was down at Seacliff with one of our BirdLife Australia volunteers Ligita checking out the nest there and we saw many peop...le doing the right thing, keeping their distance and abiding by the signs to keep their dog on a leash. But we also saw many people doing the wrong thing. Play your part, keep your dog on a leash while walking on the beach and lets see as many hoodie chicks as possible fledging this year! Thank you to all the volunteers who work to keep these guys safe during their nesting season and beyond.
