24.01.2022 Progress at our Dalkeith home - a view from the dining room, past the lounge and the patio, out to the pool and garden beyond. One day soon this will look insanely pretty!

22.01.2022 Our Leederville project approaching completion. A 209sqm block of land, 300sqm of living space and garage over 3 storeys, a green courtyard and a roof garden. That's how we do urban in-fill. Completion on this family home is just weeks away now... Contact DWA today to find out how we can create a better home for you too.

21.01.2022 Do yourself a favour and check out this recent revitalisation project by Kim Pearson Design & Decoration - House Drexel in the Perth Hills. We were lucky enough to go along for the ride offering some advice on this architectural gem by Ralph Drexel, but the finishes, fittings, cabinets and interiors are pure Kim Pearson! (we will take credit for the huge shutters to the circle window, though...). https://kimpearson.com.au/project/house-drexel/

20.01.2022 The AWS Australia Emerging Architect Prize is on again. If you have ever thought about it you should definitely enter, or tap one of your worthy colleagues. Check out the vid below and then go to the link!

17.01.2022 Our Kensington project is getting closer to completion, with the footings for an off-form concrete garden fence poured and ready for the next stage. This project is a downsizer for a semi-retired couple, with super-insulated walls and roof to the new extension, as well as thermally-broken double glazing to all the doors and windows. Contact DWA today to find out how we can create a better home for you too.

13.01.2022 Our new signage up at our Dalkeith site, telling the neighbourhood a little about this handsome old house which we are retaining and adding to. The new boundary fence is already half completed, with the extension to the house just underway!

13.01.2022 Our Kensington 'granny flat' addition is nearing completion. This addition brings a new lease of life to the original 1950s cottage, along with some great accessibility features and ESD upgrades throughout. Contact DWA today to discuss how we can help you make more out of an existing home!

10.01.2022 It may be our first week back for the year, but the brickies at our Dalkeith project haven't been so slack! The hit & miss front fence looks amazing and their workmanship is outstanding - can't wait to see the big curved corner completed to finish off the fence! Contact DWA today to discuss how you can build something better than the average.

10.01.2022 Our Leederville project, before painting. That plywood! that handrail! That Jorn Utzon pendant! Thanks Assemble! Contact DWA today to discuss how we can help you create something that requires that many exclamation points!

08.01.2022 An update from our Leederville site, where the structure is being prepared for its cladding, and the view from the loft & roof deck is already stupendous! 3x beds, 2.5x baths, 2 car garage, a roof deck and a substantial entertaining courtyard...on 179m2 of buildable sub-divided land. That's how we do beautiful and functional suburban in-fill. Always choose your architect before you choose your builder. Contact DWA today to discuss your next project.

07.01.2022 So DWA was involved in the interior design of a new restaurant and boutique brewery in Northbridge by the name of Cyril Mason's Bespoke Beer Ristorante. It was a tight, tight budget and so mostly involved paint, furniture and some screening, without touching the structure of the building. We roped in the crew from Overtime Design (link: Luke O'D - Artist) to do the graphic/colour-blocked wall painting. However, for a bunch of background reasons, the venue folded only a few weeks after opening, and before DWA ever had a chance to photograph it! Luckily Overtime were more organised. So please find here the only existing evidence that we ever helped bring a sweet new joint into NB:

06.01.2022 Once again this summer, and with what seems to be ever-increasing intensity, the news is full of stories about heatwaves and electricity generators/residents/cities not coping with the heat. Some thoughts in our latest blog post: http://davidweirarchitects.com/#/category/blog/
