24.01.2022 "I'm voting #1 David Zyngier for Camden because The Greens are the only party who squarely put climate action above fossil fuel interests. A renewables-led pandemic recovery is the only way to truly and sustainably look after the people of Australia, and it starts at a local level. Renewable energy will provide real jobs and a sustainable economy, at the same time as giving future generations the best possible chance of a hospitable climate." - Niklas and family, Elsternwick #GreenGlenEira

23.01.2022 The Greens are stronger than ever!

21.01.2022 Our plan for an environmentally sustainable Glen Eira (2021-25) Tell us what you think Council should do, and how we can help you, to reduce our community’s environmental impact.

20.01.2022 We don’t need to wait for climate action at a state or federal level. In fact, we can't afford to! We can lead solutions from a local level that tackle the climate crisis while building thriving local economies at the same time Here's my 'how to vote' card for a #GreenGlenEira: http://bit.ly/howtovotecamden ... Glen Eira Council has already recognised the #ClimateEmergency but it's crucial to keep our local action plans on track. If elected, I'll work hard to tackle climate action, including: Helping residents, businesses and community organisations save energy and switch to fossil-free power Advocating for rooftop solar and green roofs Electrifying Council's fleet Greening our streets for a cooler, more biodiverse city And so much more! That’s why your vote in this Local Government election will be more important than ever. Unlike other candidates, Greens Councillors don’t take donations from vested interests like big property developers, pokies or the fossil fuel industry Carla Scotto Art

19.01.2022 "I'm voting Green in the local election to encourage grass roots climate action. We have made our home as energy efficient and sustainable as we can and I would like to continue to reduce our impact, and to help others do the same. The role of the community in fighting our climate emergency is so important. Together we can focus on green power, and reduce, reuse and recycle. Voting Green locally will help ensure we live in a healthy environment, on a planet that has a fut...ure." - Kate Dennis, Emmy nominated TV Director & Camden resident

17.01.2022 The local Environment Victoria group, South East Volunteers, have produced a scorecard for Glen Eira Council candidates. Here's how to vote for a #GreenGlenEira: http://bit.ly/howtovotecamden http://envict.org/CouncilScorecard

14.01.2022 What can a Greens Councillor do for you? Well we've been leading the way across Australia, with evidence-based initiatives that benefit the whole community. Vote for a #GreenGlenEira this October and see what we can achieve together

14.01.2022 Caulfield South Community House Garden is an incredible asset to our neighbourhood. Connected to Caulfield South Community House, which itself offers local childcare services and a range of valuable community classes, the garden boasts a high yield of seasonal crops, an ongoing range of affordable plants and seedlings, and a dedicated team of local volunteers, both new and experienced. In the early stages of COVID-19 restrictions, it was a beautiful pocket of gre...en space and fresh air for locals to access. Under more cautionary lockdown, the Isolation Project running from the garden has been provided isolated community members with seeds and seedlings to grow at home. As a councillor for Camden Ward, I would advocate for more of these spaces and initatives to be supported with funding and easier administrative processes, to promote a connected, sustainable Glen Eira.

11.01.2022 Use your voice and vote! Here's my suggestions for a compassionate, sustainable future in Glen Eira: https://bit.ly/howtovotecamden

10.01.2022 "I’m putting David at #1 on my Camden Ward ballot because I believe genuine climate action comes from a systemic level, and as a Greens candidate David will prioritise meeting the ambitious carbon emission targets for the whole of Glen Eira in a genuine way, as well as support local businesses to improve their sustainability and advocate for further initiative at State and Federal level. I’m particularly supportive of David’s proposal to enforce a ban on Council accepting donations from developers and the gambling industry. I know that a Greens candidate will put local community ahead of large corporations." - Ryan, Elsternwick for a #GreenGlenEira

10.01.2022 In Melbourne and in cities across the world more people are choosing to cycle in response to COVID-19. Let's make sure it's safe to cycle in Glen Eira. A VicHealth survey found "2 in 3 may ride for transport more if bike lanes were physically separated from the road." Councils are being urged to 'build back better' post pandemic.... Local councils, the state government, workplaces and individuals all have a role to play in making it easier for Victorians to get around when restrictions ease." #GreenGlenEira

09.01.2022 Thrilled to be among those below. The votes are in, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve elected 36 local Greens councillors across Victoria! This Local Council election, people across Victoria from Ballarat to Boroondara, from Shepparton to Stonnington to the Surf Coast voted in record numbers for Greens Councillors with a positive vision, who will work hard for their local communities, always put people ahead of profits, and take real action on climate change! AND ...THE RESULT: AUSTRALIA’S FIRST Greens majority government in Yarra Council More Greens Councillors than ever before in Victoria, increasing from 24 to 36 Councillors! A diverse, young and passionate bunch of leaders, with 9 Greens Councillors under 35, and 10 Councillors identifying as LGBTIQ+

05.01.2022 I have been asked by many people why I am standing for the Greens. I joined the Greens because its policies reflect my Jewish values of social justice, inclusiveness, caring for others and Tikkun Olam - repairing the world. My mother is a Holocaust survivor of Auschwitz and Majdanek. My father was a Partisan with the famous Bielski Brothers. They met in the Zionist youth movement Hashomer Hatzair in Poland. I spent 15 amazing years in Hashomer Hatzair in Australia, and in ...1973 together with my mother made Aliya. She to Ramat-Gan, me to Kibbutz where I became a member. I returned to Australia following "my heart" to marry. All our children went to Hashomer Zionist youth movement and now our grandchildren. I have been a social justice and environmental activist since my teens. I fought the Nazis off the Melbourne streets in the 1970s and was a draft resister during the Australian/American War in Vietnam. I am proud to say that I was arrested during the Springbok Tour demonstrations and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Waterside Workers Unions against Patricks and their scab "goons". I formed Jews for Refugees over 20 years ago. Becoming a Green was a simple decision. Join me in making #GlenEiraGreen. Vote [1] David Zyngier. How to vote card: http://bit.ly/howtovotecamden

04.01.2022 "I am proud as both a member of Jewish Greens and Kehilat Nitzan to say that David will make a fantastic contribution to the residents of Camden Ward and Glen Eira. I have known David for many years as a regular member of both organisations. David has often been called upon to fill in for the rabbi for the weekly reading sermon. He is always able to weave his passion for social justice, anti-racism, equity and inclusion and the environment into his presentations. Vote [1] Da...vid Zyngier for a #GreenGlenEira this October - Karen, Jewish Greens

03.01.2022 It’s time for Glen Eira to elect a council that’s progressive, community-oriented and working in the best interests of all residents, with: a strong local economy a vibrant and diverse community and an actionable plan for a carbon neutral, sustainable future. ... I want Glen Eira to be a compassionate and forward thinking place. Vote Green for a progressive council that puts people and the environment front and centre. #GreenGlenEira

03.01.2022 It's been great to see people exploring our neigbourhoods on foot during lockdown. Not so great is the limited green space available for our daily exercise. Our parks are crowded, making distancing difficult. This map shows why. We have the least open space per person in Melbourne.... If elected I'll work on opening up more space for public use, greening the bits we have and creating new parks. #GreenGlenEira https://www.theage.com.au//park-strife-looms-in-suburbs-wh

03.01.2022 I want to thank all our supporters for their "Time, Talent and Treasure" in making this campaign so successful. Without your countless hours of volunteering leafletting, hosting placards and putting placards up, organising fundraising, donating, ringing and texting 1000's of residents and just sharing our ideas on social media, we wouldn't have been able to reach each and every one of the 33 thousand voters in Camden. An especial thank you to our magnificent Campaign Management Team for the amazing energy and dedication helping to make #GreenGlenEira

01.01.2022 Let's make Elsternwick thrive again - Glen Huntly Road could be a local attraction like St Kilda Esplanade and bring people from all over Melbourne post Covid to shop, buy, and relax in an outdoor space.
