24.01.2022 I love people watching and at this time of year, there are plenty to observe; their actions, behaviours and words. Quietly I reflect on my own ideas, ambitions and achievements. It’s easy to fall into the what if’s and why nots; but I just start again and go from there. I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific Lily Tomlin

22.01.2022 I’ve been grateful to find the space to be creative whilst still being engaged in the world. My mind will sometimes wander but I do my best to bring my attention back to the present moment - easier said than done. However, each time a simple reminder just start again. The mind is everything. What you think you become Buddha #davinajbambrickphotography

18.01.2022 Standing room only. The most incredible weather has brought everyone out of isolation. Cautiously optimistic, it’s going to be the norm as the border restrictions lift. Just go gently everyone. A good photograph is knowing where to stand Ansel Adams

18.01.2022 End of the day but really just the beginning. It’s been an ‘interesting’ year to say the very least, but we can just do our best and start again. And remember, we can talk about making a difference, we can make a difference, or we can do both Debbie Millman #davinajbambrickphotography

16.01.2022 Hello weekend - a time to be calm and clear no matter the weather. It’s been a very satisfying week that remained calm yet productive. The pursuit, even of the best things, ought to be calm and tranquil Marcus Tullius Cicero #davinajbambrickphotography

16.01.2022 Getting directions. I’m so not used to being on a beach with the surf patrol, so it made for a different perspective. Perfect conditions and such sublime temperatures here in the Sunshine State. Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine Anthony J. D’Angelo

16.01.2022 Follow the flags. Thank you Sunshine Coast for your hospitality and beauty. It’s time to pack up and continue north. It's time to say goodbye, but I think goodbyes are sad and I'd much rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure Ernie Harwell

16.01.2022 Lovely balance of colours on a stormy afternoon. It’s been a real treat to spend time in a new landscape. Life is like a landscape. You live in the midst of it but can describe it only from the vantage point of distance Charles Lindbergh

16.01.2022 Family focus. What an absolute gift, spending a few days with this kind, conscious and sensitive family at their property Bonnie Doone. I am grateful to call them friends having known them from our childhood and now to meet their children all of whom have a positive vision for their future. This lovely behind the scenes moment encapsulates the love they all share for each other and the environment. I cannot wait to share more of my journey on location in this magnificent vista. Their vision for their community and country is one that should be known by everyone. Family is not an important thing. It's everything Michael J Fox

13.01.2022 One of the many things that I love about where I live; being able to go for a beach walk to meet these heavenly creatures walking towards me. Great to meet you @theranchbyronbay! I will be joining you soon Horses make a landscape look beautiful Alice Walker #davinajbambrickphotography

13.01.2022 Today I launch the second series of my Art Postcards - Byron. This pack of 10 images are some of my most popular shots taken in my beloved Byron Shire. As the sign at the entrance of Byron says Cheer up, slow down and chill out. I trust these postcards do just that. Frame them, gift them or simply add them to your notice board. Each set comes in a drawstring pouch - link in bio. Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop Ansel Adams

11.01.2022 Greetings everyone! I have spent so much time on the other side of the camera, I thought I had better come over to this side and introduce myself. As a kid, I grew up in rural Queensland (Australia), and fell in love with the outback and the relaxed style of everyday life. I loved Art at grammar school and was accepted into Art College to do Graphic Design (much to the chagrin of my mother). However, after that was done I decided to follow the footsteps of my father in busi...ness and then life just went another direction and got in the way of my creative aspirations. Over the past 20 years, I have had a career in business as an executive, leading teams, acquisitions, brand management, culture change leader and strategy. During this time I chose to return my intention to my photography and have been doing commissions and landscape images which gave me such tremendous enjoyment. However, after attending a workshop in Sydney and meeting likeminded creatives who had followed their dream, I realised I could manifest the reality that I wanted. So I took a step out of the business world full-time to take my photographic skills to a more conscious level and I’ve been so grateful to have been involved with projects for portraits, interiors, commercial and product use. My business background are skills I value, as this weaves perfectly amongst my creative vision when speaking with clients. I now live near the sea in the Byron Bay region, where I can appreciate some of the most iconic beaches and natural landmarks. It’s the perfect location to work from as I serve clients in the north and south and love the adventure of travel getting to location. In 2019 & 2020 @capture.mag recognised me in Australasia’s Top Emerging Photography Awards and I am thrilled for this acknowledgement to my work. So thank you for being a supporter of my work and travelling this journey with me. My images are available for sale on my website or contact me for commissions and collaborations. Above all stay well and happy! In wisdom gathered over time I have found that every experience is a form of exploration Ansel Adams

11.01.2022 I enjoy nothing more than the sound of the Pandanus tree swaying in the breeze beside the sea. I love the swishing sound, the colour and texture nature so perfectly created. I have just released two images in the landscape series, perfect for a pop of colour anywhere in the home or business. All prints and art postcards have 15% off by using PRINT15 at the checkout. Plenty of time for deliver prior to Christmas, if placed by 12th December. Happy shopping Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit Khalil Gibran

11.01.2022 I’m always fascinated by the colours produced by nature. Its almost inconceivable how a day can be yellow and sunny and then the next day it’s as if it was photographed in black and white. Today is one of those days. Expect nothing. Live frugally on surprise Alice Walker #davinajbambrickphotography

11.01.2022 The modern day moment of the proverb ‘hear no, see no and speak no evil’ - the association with being of good mind, speech and action. A good mantra to take into the New Year. On the eve of my next adventure north, I have spent some wonderful moments beside the sea and in nature. Cherishing the quiet and contemplative life here in the Byron Shire. Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can Arthur Ashe

11.01.2022 A day to catch my breath beside the sea. I love being in nature after I’ve had a busy worldlyweek. Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises Pedro Calderon de la Barca

10.01.2022 Wading into a new week. A day without sunshine is like, you know, night Steve Martin

09.01.2022 The rain has come so time to nestle in and read and rejuvenate. I love days like this as it slows us down and reminds us to be present. How strange that nature does not knock, and yet does not intrude Emily Dickinson #davinajbambrickphotography

07.01.2022 Home again. Back beside the sea - one of my favourite places where I can catch my breath. Enjoy the week ahead everyone. You don't always have to be doing something. You can just be, and that's plenty Alice Walker

07.01.2022 Available now, I am offering my very own set of Art Postcards. If we can’t get to travel, I have brought some of my recent travel adventures to you. I’ve selected some of my most memorable images - some of which have been acknowledged in the @capture.mag Awards. The pack of 10 comes in a little drawstring pouch; frame them, use them as postcards or put them up on your inspiration board. They are also the perfect gift for someone longing faraway places. 07.01.2022 A different view to the end of the day. I found both the crowds and a dramatic scene in Qld today. So great to experience a different lifestyle and catch up with my dear friends as I journey north. The beach goers certainly were out in droves. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted Aesop

07.01.2022 A natural beauty. I’ve had a few very quiet days since arriving at my family farm and it’s been a great relief to sit still and be in nature. I have such admiration for my family & friends who live and work on the land. My Uncle understands the balance required between providing for the end user and respecting the natural environment. Many of the herd are known by name and they are treated with respect and compassion. This week I will be on location in this wonderful country - such a different landscape to my usual vista. Create your own visual style... let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable Orson Wells

06.01.2022 I’ve had a very heartfelt and creative couple of weeks in the country. One of the projects I was involved with is the restoration of this grand dame - The Rex Theatre. The building was erected in 1939 and after years of shows, cinema and other adaptations it went to sleep. In 2016 it became part of a new generation and a not for profit purchased the space to make a home for creatives and the community to collaborate. This building has some personal significance being owned by my Grandfather for many years. As a child I crept into the projection booth when I had a sleepover at my Grandad’s upstairs and my love of the movies developed at a very early age. I can’t wait to see the building restored and new life to breathe through the hallways once again. For me, the cinema is not a slice of life, but a piece of cake Alfred Hitchcock

04.01.2022 Long days, quiet contemplation and fun times at the beach Spring has arrived and like many locals I’m thrilled with the change of season. Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party! Robin Williams #davinajbambrickphotography

04.01.2022 So thrilled to see one of my prints POSTAL back from the printer now en route to a happy home

03.01.2022 Another monochromatic moment by the waters edge. A simple gesture of a guy and his skateboard and his personal freedom. If your Nerve, deny you Go above your Nerve Emily Dickinson #davinajbambrickphotography

02.01.2022 Another elegant day beside the sea, just living and breathing. I loved spotting the pelican flying high so effortlessly. Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first Mark Twain #davinajbambrickphotography

02.01.2022 Wednesday’s never looked so good as they do these days (even on a cloudy day). In some ways, climbing in the clouds is comforting. You can no longer see how high off the ground you are Tommy Caldwell

01.01.2022 The end of the day situation in this part of the world, never disappoints. Love my neighbourhood. 01.01.2022 I’m eagerly awaiting the start of Spring (as if I couldn’t just live my life now before it begins). There is something fulfilling about this time of year, a catharsis of sorts. Clearing out unwanted material items, embracing the outdoors, seeing the change of light, cleansing the body and of course long summer days. Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems Rainer Maria Rilke #davinajbambrickphotography
