25.01.2022 I realise the Facebook stories shared, paper articles and news have been showcasing my story as a sole trader without State Government support,. Highlighting my own story was not the intention, rather the point of doing this was to point out the MANY sole traders that have been left out when it comes to the state support grants. The purpose of the story is to raise awareness of the e petition I started for ALL Victorian sole traders who missed out on state support. The petit...ion has been sponsored by Melina Bath MP and is supported by Tim Bull MP, and it will be tabled in Parliament. Which means we have a chance to be heard in Parliament! Im sure many have signed lots of petitions like this one, but this one will actually be documented in Parliament, and that is why its important for everyone to know about it and jump on and sign it if its something you support. Stay strong all of my fellow sole traders and particularly those in my industry who have been shut down completely and who missed out on the grants. I stand with you ALL, and hope we can open their eyes to the injustice it is to leave us closed and unsupported.

22.01.2022 EFAs Why do you need them? Essential Fatty Acids, are just that, essential.... Our acid mantle, the very outer surface of our skin, is our main protector. It protects against TEWL (trans epidermal water loss), which basically means our protection against water or hydration escaping from the deeper layers of the skin. It gives our skin our ph level, to protect against pathogens and harmful bacteria, and it slows the absorption of actives reducing irratation or unwanted responses . Our acid mantle is comprised of a layer of water and a layer of oil. Around 85% of the oil comes from essential fatty acids which are released from the cell membrane. Our diets just cannot meet the required amount of EFAs our body needs for our cells to function optimally. Supplementing with EFAs will support cell membrane development and the acid mantle creation and maintenance. If our acid mantle is dehydrated, a clever little enzyme called the S.C.C.Es, or its full name, stratum corneum chymotryptic enzymes, cannot function. This enzyme creates a natural desquamation (exfoliation) process when the cell reaches the skins surface. If the skin is dry or dehydrated it will signal the sebaceous gland to produce more oil, if its oily it will tell it to produce less. If there is a build up of dead corneocytes, this will signal the stem cell to slow down its redivision process that allows the S.C.C.Es to work through the back log, in the case of excessive heat a signal is sent to the melonocyte to protect the skin by releasing Melanosomes. These communication signals only exist in a hydrated skin. Skin is only hydrated if the oil and water content, the acid mantle, is functioning correctly. Different skin concerns require different doses of EFAs But all EFAs are not created equal. 18.01.2022 Well here we are again, sadly unable to open. The news is devastating to say the least, but I am hopeful that common sense will prevail and the numbers for our region will be taken into consideration and Im also hopeful the government will view beauty the same as hair and allow us to trade. I cant wait to be open again and able to see you all, but for now with no exact reopening date, everything is on hold.... If you had an appointment booked, you will be the first I contact to reschedule when I have an opening date. If you dont have a booking yet, the waitlist is open. Just send through an email to [email protected] and Ill pop you on the wait list :-) I have turned the online bookings off for the moment, but as soon as I can perform treatments again, I will be back! Seems like a lifetime ago, but I look at this and know that it doesnt matter where I trade from, commercial premises or home clinic the level of customer service I provide will also be a bar I continually raise. The dramas of 2020, first with the bushfires and then COVID -19, has really overshadowed just about everything we do.... We have learned to adapt and become more resourceful, and there isnt a day that goes by without at least a couple of conversations about the Pandemic. Who can relate to that?

APAN (Tina Viney) is currently working on a program that will prove to the Government that the cur...rent safety concerns can be resolved . This will leave them no reason why they should restrict the reopening of salons and clinics. This is the hurdle we need to overcome. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. To this stage Tina has spent $20,000 to help resolve these issues, this includes a COVID safety policy. She has spoken to both the Victorian Government and Federal Government with very compelling points to help them change their position. Today she will submit her proposal for their consideration and will be in on-going discussions with them to ensure a solution for the industry, not just for now but to safeguard us from future disruptions. I can assure you her strategy is ingenious and very compelling towards a solution. She has our back and is encouraging everyone to try to stay positive and as calm as possible. See more
