16.01.2022 Here is a bit of a quiz for our more experienced, NVFR or IFR rated pilots! Situation: experienced night pilot, clear night but remote from built up area, waning moon. 300 feet AGL after take-off. (Dark night, black hole area, no ground lights as you would see in the city - very little to no ground reference) Three questions for night punters:... 1. What is wrong here? 2. What is the threat? 3. How do we manage this situation? Photo taken once aircraft stabilised because he saw an opportunity for others to learn. Aircraft was flown onto destination as such, this was the safest option. We will give the answer in a few days! Look closely..
