19.01.2022 Very excited to hear 'Beginning of Nature' by Garry Stewart and ADT that I designed last year won Best Dance Production at the 2019 Helpmann Awards.

16.01.2022 I thought I had a title for this one, but I have just checked the plot synopsis for Julia Robert's 'My Best Friends Wedding' and well - - it wasn't like that at all!!!! Eve has been my closest friend since we met among cases of clearance sale red wine and opera props a good few years ago (in fact I was making her a beaded dress for her thirtieth). The years since then seem packed. There were a great deal of parties... and taxis. Lots of taxis. And Eve has managed in those yea...rs to also meet Simon, and with the arrival of Chloe, start a family together. So it has been one of those very special moments watching a friend bring all the threads of her life together, and tie them in a knot... I understood just how important this was to Eve... and having her in the studio making the dress for her was great for our friendship. We'd gone and shopped for dresses. [After the debacle with her thirtieth dress getting on her just MINUTES before the event, I nearly wasn't given another shot!!!] We found some very nice things but then Eve said 'I think that we can do better'. And so we did. The dress is alabaster silk duchess organza with guipure lace, and was so comfortable that she didn't want to take it off... at least not until four in the morning.... 01.01.2022 On Saturday, apart from dancing my limbs off and celebrating the most awesome couple's wedding, which all comes later with photos.... I also caught an uber with the most awesome woman in SA... and told her I'd get her a hundred likes and promptly did not because the wedding. So. If you like fishing or if you don't like fishing... Please go to this page for the 7.3m Bar Crusher and the awesome team of women that ride about on it catching fish (and kissing them and popping them... back probably) Because SA is now the home of women in sport and these girls compete in both women's and general competition and are fabulous. And her acrylics were impeccable. Justagirl

01.01.2022 Last year I posted saying there'd be more about this dress later... well later has arrived... well, later. Alex has just sent me these captivating and slightly nostalgic "snapshots" from her wedding last December at a stunning private residence in Willunga. You may think you have seen the dress before... though it's brand new. ... Alex had her heart simply set on one thing - and we originally started to make this dress up from scratch. But Alex's eye was for fabric a little more soft and provincial than the bright new laces we originally began with. She'd seen something similar somewhere - - and tracked it down online. We discussed if it was possible, and we started anew and she bought the dress! Or A dress... Not a bit remains of THAT dress. As Alex and her mum looked on with trepidation as I cut a little into the sleeves (and then whipped them off) ... they had no idea how VERY little of the dress would actually remain. The hem. The hem is the same. But Alex can thank herself for the stunning idea that was only possible through her bravery and my scissors. Another great dress renovation by Davis Browne!
