04.01.2022 INTROVERSION VS SHYNESS! It is a common misconception that being shy and an introvert is the same, but this is not the case. You can be shy, but this doesnt automatically put you in the category of an introvert (or vice versa!) Shyness involves fearing something, whereas introverts prefer to be in the company of themselves rather than groups of people. Some shy people might actually want to be around others, but once they are, anxiety and fear tend to settle in.... Example: An introvert may choose to skip a group event to stay at home to read a book or watch a movie because they just dont want to be around people, whereas a shy person may choose to not go to an event BECAUSE of the fear they are feeling regarding socialisation. It is easy to get the lines blurred as they have similar elements but we hope this has been insightful and brought more understanding of these personality traits! #DavisDesign #GraphicDesign
