23.01.2022 This is an amazing initiative for high school students/teachers and youth groups to help our precious koalas. Check out the details and be part of the solution Green Heroes Ricardo Lonza
22.01.2022 The Berejiklian government is back to its old tricks with poisonous CSG - today announcing its support for the proposed $3.6 billion Santos coal seam gasfield in northern NSW. This is a 850-well project that would extend over 1000 hectares of the Pilliga State Forest and adjoining grazing land! Contact your local member and let them know this is not happening!
21.01.2022 Just last week I caught up with members of the Brewarrina community who are desperate about the state of their water. They can’t believe a Government would allow this disaster to happen to our mighty river system. And yet today we find the Water Minister, Melinda Pavey attacking the independent Natural Resources Commission who has recommended measures to stop irrigators sucking the Darling River dry! If you get a chance, call your local MP and tell them to back the full NRC recommendations to save the Darling River. Our mighty rivers need us.
19.01.2022 Listen to Bob Brown direct from takayna / Tarkine frontline right now. Arrested treesitter Josh Nichols is a braveheart for Earth, he has sat firm against needless destruction in an age of climate emergency & extinction crisis. #takayna #Tarkine
19.01.2022 survival-by-respect or death-by-stupid. Great article in today’s SMH by Elizabeth Farrelly
19.01.2022 We are your children, hear us roar #todaywastheirday
18.01.2022 Well done Tweed Shire Council declaring a climate emergency on the eve of the worldwide climate strike tomorrow!
17.01.2022 It’s unbelievable that the NSW Government would allow Forestry Corporation to log our native forests when they have been burnt to smithereens in the worst bushfires of our life time. #extinction #endnativeforestlogging
17.01.2022 This is a great initiative! Share around to those you know might be interested. #Greenheroes Sarah Jantos
14.01.2022 Amazing win. This is huge for our forests and native wildlife!
13.01.2022 New Zealand friends texted yesterday to say they can smell the fires from across the ditch. They wanted to know how they could help and I suggested WIRES. WIRES have been rescuing and caring for our native wildlife for over 30 years and need all the help we can give them during this unprecedented loss of life and habitat. https://www.wires.org.au/
11.01.2022 This is fantastic news!
11.01.2022 Rob is a 5th generation dairy farmer who is calling us together to demand climate action now. He’s asking us to display something yellow, a sign, a ribbon on the fence.....I’m painting my letterbox yellow Lets all get involved - share the message far and wide #yellowsign #showourcolours for climate action
10.01.2022 Greens members across Australia will soon vote on the method used to select future federal leaders. I agree with former Greens leaders that excluding MPs from having a say on who is elected to lead their team is a recipe for dysfunction. The 50:50 model that allows both the parliamentary team and Greens members to have a say in leadership contests makes the most sense.... Totally denying Greens MPs any input in who becomes their leader is foolish.
09.01.2022 Yesterday we were visited by 1,000 of these little fellas on their way south to the high plains. Amazing to see the passage of nature up close like this. Just remember to turn off lights and shut your bedroom window! Lesson learnt from last night
08.01.2022 Woke up this morning to more smoke. It’s devastating what is happening across NSW and Queensland with so many brave men and women on the front line fighting these dangerous fires. We thankyou and want you to stay safe. Our hearts go out to those that have lost everything. We are hearing stories of great loss including the wildlife that have tried to escape but had no where to go. Climate change has entered everyone of our lives and we can’t afford to look away. We need to continue to pressure our governments to act now.
07.01.2022 We have woken up today to heartbreaking stories of loss and grief as the fires still burn uncontrollably across our State. People we know and care about are suffering dreadfully. Some have lost their homes and we wait for news of others who are in the line of fires. Communities are grieving the loss of wildlife and precious forests. A huge thankyou to those of you fighting the fires and those rescuing injured wildlife. I know some of you have been battling fires and putting... water out for native animals for months now and the level of exhaustion and stress is high. This is not over yet, but I wanted you to know that we are thinking of you all during this terrible time. Dawn
