25.01.2022 Funny facts I'm just one bloke running a small local business. But could not get the Job Keeper. I have not idea if that's good or bad but there it is. I like to think I'm doing something right... Cheers Ross

25.01.2022 Recession. When I started school as a kid in Rocky, school morning tea was called "Smoko" I have no idea why. None of us 5 year olds smoked. ( my Joke) But somewhere as I grew "smoko" started to be called "recess" and the words recess and recession are sort of related.... At school "recess" meant time to go out and play and now as a long term small business in the area "recession" Means more time to go out and play. Yes we are in a recession and yes things could be better out there for a lot of people, but hey we live in Queensland and we are so lucky. Anyway, eventually you will need something painted at your place and if you want someone who knows the paint industry back to front, feel welcome to give me a call. 0409343232 Cheers Ross

25.01.2022 Painting tip: Proper ventilation prevents mold

23.01.2022 So it looks like we are about to have an uplift and spike in our economy. The government stimulates the economy, great. Creates more debit, not so great. Resulting in a quick inflationary trend (spike) then a pull back. It is hard to get the balance right, I understand that.... The big lesson in times like these is be cautious. Of course the best thing to do is have the house painted (by me) and it will cheer you up. Be well Cheers Ross

23.01.2022 Perfect time of year to get the sunny side of the house painted, (painters joke)

21.01.2022 Slow down. Well here it is, for thousands of local trades and businesses and my self. The great slow down. Over the years I have seen at least 4 slow downs, mostly economic. Of course this is different, however the economic factors will not be favorable for sometime.... Most of my business is in the category of "discretionary spending" which means people tend to have the painter in when they want and not because they have to. So we have Covid and all its unknowns and we have an economic downturn. And still we do everything we can to keep going. I know people don't really want tradespeople in their house at the moment. But I can still paint outside and it's nice weather for it as well. Is there anything you can think of to keep a local trades-person with a little work coming in? Is there anything I can do to make your experience of having someone come to your house easier? Can you plan ahead a little further, get quotes now and see how you feel after that? Can we work a little together to overcome any concerns and keep a realistic focus on the outcome you need? Its time to be a little smarter, even if you just want to put an idea up, call me 0409343232 cheers Ross

20.01.2022 Oh, yes you can

19.01.2022 One of the great things about being older and perhaps rich in life's experiences is we have known pain, we have suffered. We know how to rebuild and regain strength. On the other side of this I hope we see the culture of the individual (the its all about me culture) change back into a community focused culture (I am a part of my community) But what can I say, I am an optimist. ... Do what you need to do, stay kind and I'll see you on the other side. Cheers Ross

17.01.2022 People often ask when is the best time to paint a house. Well outside its when its dull, dirty or small cracking line appear. Inside its often when you're finding it hard to wash your walls, but mostly it's to make the house look fresh and modern.... Cheers Ross

15.01.2022 Dulux has a very very good anti bacterial paint, if your concerned about little things like that cheers Ross

13.01.2022 Happy news a new Dulux Trade center in Morayfield. Call for your painting needs

12.01.2022 Note for the guys and gals out there or the gals and guys in your life. When you clean your own house you get to see anything that's causing damage. A bed to close to a wall, a cupboard deteriorating from moisture because of a break in the silicon jointing. Stuff like that. Then there's this bonus you feel great and your house is clean.... Got to tell you, as a painter do I like to work in clean house. But I'm also very good at cleaning up a house that has hard knocks. I know the price of real estate is starting to climb and a lot of new people, perhaps like you, are moving in. There are a lot of houses still to be brought at bargain prices because they have had some hard knocks. You might find an older guy who's business has run continuously, since 1982, from Caboolture, is fairly useful. I'm not always available because of ongoing arrangements with a bigger company who regularly need trades contractors. Most little jobs are fine, for bigger jobs we need to work out time arrangements. It's always better to make plans. Okay Cheers Ross

11.01.2022 I have this charming story that can also be done as a meditation. There are two friends Purpose and Wisdom. Purpose was kind of busy and spent a lot of time thinking about ways to do things. Purposed looked for things that would fit together, he asked questions about possibility. As a friend, he was fairly determined.... Purpose had a real love of Wisdom, Wisdom also loved it when Purpose came up with something interesting for them to do together. Wisdom took the time to explore what might or might not happen if Purpose took another friend Action on to do the real work. Wisdom kept a close friend Peacefulness, who always asked Wisdom Where are you now, in your peacefulness or not.? Both knowing, decisions made outside of peacefulness have still got missing details. Take the time to, if not meditate on this at least let these functions of the mind meet each other. Take purpose to wisdom and wisdom to peacefulness

11.01.2022 Welcoming the season change, ah how nice. This is the time of year painters love to paint the outsides of houses. Surprise yourself and make a call so the house looks fresh. One thing you'll love is the price. There's not that much work to do on the standard brick home. You know what to do. 0409343232 call Ross ... Cheers See more

07.01.2022 So here we go: We are on the first stages of a massive building boom. The Council, the state government are lagging on infrastructure at the design level let alone the implementation stage.... If I didn't like painting so much I'd run for State Parliament and push like a bulldozer. I just cannot believe how stupid it is to allow development without all the proper on the ground preparation. It's time for the federal Government to kick in with a new highway. But despite me its here and its on. For existing home owners there will be price pressure on housing near rail stations parks nature areas, acreages and golf courses. It's likely the houses in high transit areas will be demolished for unit blocks. But houses near vital infrastructure and parks etc will see good price gains. If you have a house in an area that is likely see a high value push and you think it might be time to take a profit and move. The sensible thing to do is start your tidy up now. Yard fences paintwork that kind of thing. I tend to be very skeptical about the total economic situation however what I think doesn't matter against the facts. In a building boom the prices of trades services go through the roof and now is the time to get in tidy up and get ready to sell. Just at the moment there is no way in the world I'd book in more than 3 months work ahead. I think most trade prices and supplies will move up by September. There's your window. Need a quote on paint work Ring Ross 0409343232 Cheers Ross

05.01.2022 What an odd year hey. We are right at the start of an economic rise and there are plenty of reasons to believe that with interest rates so low and inflation beginning to push property prices will move maybe 12% next year. I would have never seen it coming but it's here, this is shaping up to be the good times. Certainly in economic but not in ecological terms. in that regard there is such good new technologies that I'm certain the balance will begin shortly. If you haven't se...en the netflix movie "Kiss the Ground" it is very much worth a look. The real sign of real estate price pressure should be seen on house blocks near rail stations for unit development. If your on the market, talk to your agent about putting the price up, no need to make their job easy. A big thank you to everyone who made an inquiry and keep me busy during the year. Hope you have am enjoyable holiday session and get time to love and be kind to others Cheers Ross

05.01.2022 Painting Tip: If your washing your walls just to clean them, you might think twice about using blue sugar soap. It's very strong and made for washing surfaces for painting. The blue colour I believe is a dye and I have seen it discolour light coloured surfaces.... Most home dish-washing detergents that have "Streak free" written on them are fairly good but use lightly. I buy my cleaning gear from North side Cleaning Supplies Morayfield and they have a range of mops for washing wall that make it easy to do and they have a great range of wall wash detergents. It's a great idea to let the detergents do their work and not scrub your walls or the buffing effect will leave shiny patches. It's true not all walls need to be washed before painting, but if yours do and you'd like to make a little saving on your cost of painting its easy enough to do if you have the time. cheers Ross, get a quote if you like 0409343232

05.01.2022 I suppose it's easy to say, try and keep yourself busy and find things to do. But as an old painter I can tell you a few things that you sort of know, but most people forget about. On top of the fridge, behind the fridge.... Tops of doors, door frames and window frames. Window tracks. Loose door handles. Fly screens. Tops of Kitchen Cupboards. Mildew on handrails. Leaves in gutters. Take a look you might find something to do. Cheers, stay well Ross

04.01.2022 you can only be lost after your found, until that you're just confused
