15.01.2022 In a moment of emergency where all the landmarks are disturbed and can create some panic, it's also the occasion to eventually change our perspective on things and on our habits. That eventuallity that we are usually too scared to look at more deeply because of the fear of loosing what we've got. Sometimes, panic or extreme fear can bring some kind of realisation that we might need to start doing things differently if we want to survive the internal and surrounding chaos. ...For example stay centered, get more grounding or calm to make the right decision or being able to keep our own judgement and not be too reactive to the craziness around us. Maybe it's the perfect timing to get closer to an ancient tradition which provides the teaching to help anyone developing those qualities. Considering the circumstances, if I speak in the name of the Daxuan tradition nothing else but some time and oneself is needed to practice in fact. No equipment required, no special place or condition to gather. Just you, at home. You can take the information directly online and just do it! You could be surprised to suddenly have that feeling that the world around you is agitating while YOU can stay aligned and calmer. Or to realise that you can be reacting differently when you replace worrying by confidence. So in another words, maybe it's time to consider to start practicing something who can help you going through the period or to start doing more of it if you already started. 14.01.2022 Sometimes to accept a situation we need to perceive the reality of it. Then, we need to fight against the rebellion of our ego which pushes us to refuse the new rules the situation imposes us. This rebellion makes us believe we remain free but it's usually a fake sensation of freedom. Freedom is real only if we can accept the idea of not be as free as we would like to be. ... Feeling free in spite of restriction or containment: this is freedom! In the Daxuan tradition we say that at the origin of an emotion there is a thought. If we don't feel free enough, that thought leaves a trace, a residue in our emotional system which makes us feel frustrated, angry, eventually depressed pushing us into rebelling. It's nothing more but agitation where, instead, we could feel a lot more free if we were feeling peaceful and in adequaty with the event we have to face. That is why, besides the breath practice, our tradition includes mind/spirit practices for us to learn how to reduce the unecessary thoughts, which can be at the origin of the wrong choices we make in the name of a fake freedom. Only a mind in peace can choose a proper response. If it's too agitated it only leads us to our downfall. Maybe now is the time to accept to stay home. 07.01.2022 In the Daxuan tradition, we say that energy is everywhere and we can exchange with it. We also say that emotions are energy. So, if we consider this basic assumption, we can easily understand how the addition of the emotions of the people in our surrounding can affect us without even really noticing it.... An example we might all have experienced at least once: when you are in a group of people, if only one person is expressing a bad mood, the whole group will be affected to the point where each person won't feel comfortable. When the emotional charge is too big, like at the moment, it affects our environment and ourself by the same occasion. For that reason, it seems very important to me to do all what is possible to try to release the weight we carry despite ourself. It's up to us to authorise ourself to take care of ourself. Because of the situation, we all have more time we can use to practice anything we know to bring the level of stress down. To reset our emotional system regularly and be able to go through the period in the best condition as possible. Still in the Daxuan tradition, we say that the most direct way to act on our energy and through it, our emotions, is to develop a conscious breathing. Simply be aware of our cycle of breath, pay attention to it, can help draining our disturbing emotions. At the moment, if we don't need to go to work, we save the time of transport right? Why not using that time breathing attentively? We can keep in mind this: if a bad mood can affect a group, maybe a good one could help this same group. And, why not, inspire the members in that sense... But we can only answer that by trying the experience. 05.01.2022 No more gyms open at the moment and no more gathering. For pretty much all of us, we are confined home most of our time, eventually missing a good workout to evacuate the stress the actual situation causes. That sensation of sweating the bad tension stuck inside, to release, is missing. And we might already be turning crazy and frustrated about not being able to do any real "efficient" physical exercise, our mind turning in loops. The Daxuan tradition permits, through some ve...ry slow motion Qi Gong exercises, to develop some cardio training, deep muscles and to strenghten the tendons. We can build a sain daily program which will relax our physical tensions while we also reduce the emotional and mental ones. Slowing down is what the situation forces us to do. So we may apply it to our workout as well and see what the benefit could be. We can adapt to less space, less equipment for a change to less physical movement for more global benefit in our body/mind system. 03.01.2022 How many times did we say, chatting with others, that the world was speeding too much and this had to stop? How many times did we think: "I would like to do this or that but I miss some time"? How often did we say we always wanted to learn this or try that but we didn't because we were too busy?... It seems that life has offered us the occasion, putting the society in suspension. Of course, from our perspective, it might not be the right timing. It's obvious we didn't plan it for now or chose this time BUT, it's here. In the Daxuan tradition, we have something, a way of practicing, called "emptying our trash". It means that we should, thanks to our daily practice, be able to empty our physical/emotional trash every day, to avoid to have to do it when it cracks and fall over the floor on a day we didn't choose. Here we are! So it's up to us to transform the fact we feel forced to do it by becoming fully part of it, accepting to go with this current instead of resisting to what could be our chance to create a little bit more the life we want. What if it was the moment for us to start learning what we always wanted to learn? What if it was the right time for us to try things we wanted to discover? What if it was the occasion to finally take advantage of the free time or, even if we keep working from home, to take advantage of a slower rhythm to actually reflect on what we want to do do with it?
