15.01.2022 Me with Arnie and Diesee, beautiful boys who I adored. Ernie and Simon are my 2 boys I have had since 2011, Simon can't get enough of the water and Ernie won't go anywhere near it. Oh well they're are all different and that's what is so gorgeous about our pets
11.01.2022 Storm season has arrived and if your furry family especially your dogs dont cope when there are storms, it's a good idea to have their "safe space" ready for them. A covered crate, inside access, garage, somewhere they feel safe. If a neighbour can pop over that's even better. Talking to your vet or having Rescue Remedy in your first aid kit may also assist in relaxing your pets during storm season :)

01.01.2022 Now is the time to clean out your chicken coops! After such a hot, humid summer followed by rain, this is the time when lice and worms come alive. If you haven't wormed your chickens in a while Wormout tablets are a good all rounder making sure you adhere to the withholding period of 2 weeks before eating eggs. Garlic may also help in combating worms and has been said to help respiratory complaints due to the sulphur component. Placing a couple of cloves in their water ever...y 2 to 3 weeks is a good tonic. But don't delay going to the vet if respiratory complaints persist as chickens need prompt attention. I grow Lemon Grass, Rue and Wormwood in their run which is great to keep the pens smelling fresh and help deter lice. Growing lavender near by their dust bathing area is also lovely for them. But don't forget your other beautiful furry friends. Washing all their bedding after the hot humid summer is a must to keep them happy healthy and the fleas at bay. See more
