20.01.2022 Only under 4 weeks left until I shut up shop for maternity leave under doctors orders. If you wish to get maintenance or a full head at the discounted rate of $20 an hour let me know and we will see where I can squeeze you in as when we open back up the price will be going up to $25 an hour. Lots of love from Nichola at Daydream Dreadlocks!

20.01.2022 Met a lovely lady today that had created her own dreads and they were coming along beautifully, though some were very loose like plats. Nothing a good old crochet hook can’t fix her stories were fascinating and she even dyes her hair naturally from beetroot and purple carrots! So cool, I love hearing about people’s journey through life and their different interests and hobbies.

12.01.2022 Many people love the look of thin dreadlocks but they are a lot harder work then they look! This client had over 100 micro thin dreadlocks on just the top of his head. He has to get maintenance every 3 months at least as they just don’t lock up the same as the thicker dreads. With many of his dreadlocks they were hanging by 4 hairs so I had to join them with the neighbouring dreadlock to help his scalps health. Scalp health is a very very important part of any dreadlock jour...ney. I 100% advise against any supermarket bought shampoos as they are full of chemicals and get stuck in your dreadlocks. If you are wanting some different shampoo I do sell some in my studio but can also show you different ones from the health food stores that are also great and good for you and the earth. The more you look after your scalp and dreads the better they will mature. Remember to avoid ANY shampoos with conditioning affects as it won’t help your dreadlocks lock up. Have a lovely wet weekend with your loved ones #scalphealth #dreadlocks #goldcoast #microdreads See more

01.01.2022 Made some lovely dreads on a lovely lady today! She only wanted half a head so she could hide her dreads at work. The first photo was her at home attempt of making dreads made with back combing, palm rolling and hair spray. When she came to me asking for my help I had two options.... 1. keep the original dreads and try fix them OR 2. start again from scratch. The best option for her was to start again as the sectioning was crossed over and too thin for sustainable Dreadlocks ...on her very thin hair. This is the end product, beautifully locked Dreadlocks that are % Eco friendly and knotted from day dot. No palm rolling needed! This is a great option for people that have always wanted Dreadlocks but worried about what their workplace will say. Easy to hide but easy to flaunt #dreadlocks #beforeandafter #halfhead #goldcoastdreadlocks #daydreamdreadlocks See more
