25.01.2022 Well done to all who raced over the weekend! Where did you go and how did you go? I had the pleasure of experiencing Swan Hill Speedway yesterday and cheering on many familiar racers, well done to all involved. Was such a great atmosphere, well done to all the committee and volunteers! Congratulations to all the racers. - Belinda
25.01.2022 Calling for sponsors. Calling for volunteers. Daylesford Speedway is the oldest operating within Victoria, and the story goes it was started by two Diggers on their return from World war 2. This ties in with the ongoing donations given to the Daylesford RSL and the newly erected memorial stone. The beautiful location set down in a forest basin has giving it the proud Racin’ in the basin theme. You enter into the track and can feel the atmosphere. You can sense the cars, an...d the crowds of times now gone. You can speak to the locals, speak to the older gentleman sitting in his camp chair enjoying his Beer, they will tell you all the stories. The rollovers. The action. The wins and the losses. And those that were once as much in love with the place but have now left this world to go to a bigger track. The old toilet block remains. Graffiti covered by Graffiti covered by whatever donated paint the volunteers can get in an attempt to maintain what assets the club has. New buildings proudly stand tall, a result of hard work and dedication. The ground is muddy, unsettled yet the area still shows the dedication and love it has been given, and you can sense the potential where its heading. However, with all the work undertaken it has cost the club greatly. In previous times the club owned Grader was sold. Leaving track preparation at a difficult standstill, but still the club pushed forward. They towed an old grader blade around. The volunteers and committee walked the track and handpicked rocks. They persevered with the equipment they had, the equipment they could borrow and they went out each weekend in the lead up to raceday to hand prepare the area. Volunteers gather around and hand fenced the track. They called on friends with a trade Mate can you come out and plumb our new portable toilets, they dug and cut out blackberries. All the heavy equipment was gone. All the heavy work was gone, but still the track wasn’t ready to race. BUT, we raced, we got it ready. We raced only half our meets. Mother nature didn’t treat our delicate, unsettled area kindly. We got rained out. We got bogged. The amazing work from the seasons gone by, the heavy earthmoving, was still so unsettled, our hands were tied. The vast improvements the club was striving to achieve had also set us backwards. Being able to regain some important equipment such as a Grader. Funds to build more fencing around the new water areas, new seating, Traffic lights for race day management for the flaggies. Plant new trees for shade. And so much more will help keep Daylesford alive. One day our track will fall silent for the last time, and the history will be gone forever. I will stand and continue the fight to help maintain the history. And to build new memories. - Belinda Taylor, Treasurer. On Behalf of the Daylesford Speedway driver association.
24.01.2022 Howdy all. This is a courteous post for our Quarter Midget families. Due to the amount of nominations we have Sunday, to be infield to watch you will require a pit pass band, adult or children alike. We need to ensure the day runs smoothly and safely and given our time schedule the pit area will be closed to the general public at some of the times the Quarter midgets will be out. If you have any questions please come chat to any of the officials or myself in the office. Reg...ards, Belinda See more

22.01.2022 We are excited by the number of queries we have had regarding memberships for the next season. We are still sorting legalities through consumer Affairs Victoria and will be announcing some advice soon. Also a reminder to past members and potential new members, we, like all registered associations do have a many policies in place. This includes the slander and defamation against the club and officials. We also hold the right to refuse memberships for breaches under this code.

15.01.2022 As your all aware, COVID-19 has placed many restrictions and roadblocks in the way for many businesses and clubs. The current government guidelines do mean in essence, yes, racing could commence. With no spectators. This ruling alone means many financial and planning objectives that we as a committee are working on. We appreciate your keen to participate or watch, but please understand our club, like many others, have tied hands and we are working on a solution. We will be ...in contact with our previous seasons members shortly with more information which will then be made available as well via the page. Keep on building those cars and stay safe in the meantime!
14.01.2022 Dear Competitors As the Federal Government has imposed a recommendation advising against non-essential, organised public gatherings of up to more than 500 peopl...e, many tracks have decided to postpone meetings for a period of time. The VSC will respect any decision, but as we have Titles upcoming at some of these venues we would like to inform you of our position. Any Title date that is changed and any entrant cannot attend, a full nomination refund will be given. VSC will discuss the re opening of nominations and late entries. No decision has been made on this as yet. Any track that has a Title to be run will be working with the VSC on alternative options. The VSC will however try to have Titles run this season. For any track that is unable to host a title we will look at other alternatives. If there are titles that aren't run in this season, the VSC will look at options in the new season. 05.01.2022 COVID-19 As many have seen there has been a multitude of information in regards to the Governments release on public events. Our upmost priority is and always has been the safety of our racers, volunteers ane spectators. With this being said we have further assessed the update issued today from the Government in regards to both indoor and outdoor non essential events and wish to advise our followers of the following decisions.... Daylesford speedways upcoming race event scheduled for 29th March is postphoned following the State issued emergency plan. This plan will be updated regularly from the Government, and although its imposed for 6 months at this stage we will be awaiting the current advertised review which is scheduled for in 4 weeks time. It is after this further review we will be then taking any required action in regards to the remaining seasons race dates, currently scheduled for 29th March (postphoned), 26th April and 3rd May pending update. In the event that the season will not be completed we will be basing all points off race meets previously held and arrange presentation night as per any imposed rulings that may follow from the Government. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time as we continue to monitor and assess all health updates and regulations as required. Please continue to follow all required hygiene processes during this period to help keep yourselves and family and loved ones in a limited risk factor where possible. 03.01.2022 We are please to have the ongoing support of Complete Maintenance Services -CMS4x4 Thank you to Simon and his team for the ongoing support. After being exposed to the industry for over 15 years as a licenced motor mechanic and industrial technician, they saw a gap in the local market that enticed us to kick off Complete Maintenance Services. That gap was a focus on customer service and satisfaction.... Starting from a well-equipped home workshop and mobile service unit in 2015 the business soon grew to a point where a larger commercial premises was necessary. Then in only a few short years they grew out of the humble Smith Street workshop and have just moved to a much larger, more modern facility located around the corner in Kennedy Place. The new workshop gives the opportunity to be even better equipped allowing us to provide a wider range of products and services to our customers. Director, Simon Dangerfield, has been a local Bacchus Marsh resident his whole life and is committed to looking after his local community. With a strong passion and desire for all things 4x4, classics, muscle and modern performance, CMS can offer everything from extreme 4x4 suspension and drivetrain upgrades to your standard log book servicing and everything in between!
