24.01.2022 An official briefing from the Hepburn Shire on the "Hub".
23.01.2022 Updated Screening Schedule for the Postponed Reconcilliaton Week screenings! This time for sure!
22.01.2022 The Reconciliation week movies are continuing at the Town Hall. Tonight, (Thurs 13th June) We Don't Need A Roadmap - FREE SCREENING! Friday (14th June) Top End Wedding! Don't miss them! Tix for Friday's movie available on the door ($15). Tonight (Thurs 13th) - it's free!!! How often do you hear that! Thanks go to Hepburn Shire for the assistance with these screenings.
22.01.2022 3 years ago our projector, sound equipment and volunteers "left the building". Our much loved Daylesford Cinema had to close to allow for building renovations. The cinema has officially been closed for 3 years now. At the time of us vacating, the then CEO said "we would be back in the building by Xmas!!". He didn't specify which Xmas! Our committee have remained in tact throughout the closure and all the ups and downs that have been encountered during the renovatio...n of The Rex. We remain committed to seeing this project to completion. We have continued to hold regular meetings throughout the last 3 years and are working with council on the internal design and fitout of the new Daylesford Cinema V2.0. It will be good when it's finished! We've been advised that a new tender has recently been appointed to complete the build, so we hope to have a new home sometime in 2021. We'll update the community when we know more. In the meantime, our AGM is scheduled for Wed 25th Nov. Official notices with all the AGM papers will be hitting your inboxes shortly. If you were a member at the time of closure, your membership will still be valid! The AGM will be an online meeting, so we hope to see a few faces on the little screen for our meeting. If your email address has changed in the last 3 years, please let us know so we can update our records. Linda Carroll Committee Member & Ex President
21.01.2022 Daylesford Cinema are normally supporters of the Hepburn Regional Community Cheer Appeal. We don't have a shopfront at the moment (as many of you would be aware), so we're happy to share a link to their GoFundMe Campaign. Please donate to this community appeal. Perhaps you could donate the cost of a movie ticket! $10 (or $15 if you can!)... All donations will be gratefully received and all money stays within our shire! The Daylesford Cinema Committee wish HRCC every success with their appeal.
20.01.2022 Can you help Hepburn Regional Community Cheer reach their financial targets this year? Anything you can spare, even $5 would be gratefully appreciated. More than ever before HRCC needs our help.

15.01.2022 the latest update from the Shire about the Rex build.
13.01.2022 An update on the Rex build from our Council
12.01.2022 Here is an official update from Hepburn Shire regarding the build at the Rex. Whilst we are concerned and frustrated that it has taken so long, we have been reassured that the build is continuing and should be back on track in the very near future. The cinema committee are receiving regular updates and are in constant communication with Council We know everyone is concerned about the time it is taking, but on the up-side, we will have a sparkly new home to move into one day! Had the arcade been purchased by a developer or entrepreneur, we wouldn't have been given this life-line that Council have provided - so - from that point of view, we just have to be patient. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen!

If you couldn't make it to a guided tour, click here and go on a virtual guided tour. The cinema committe look forward to having our community cinema up and running in the 2nd part of 2021! https://www.youtube.com/watch
10.01.2022 Media Release: It is with regret that Daylesford Cinema announce that this weekend (27/28th April) will be our last weekend of screening movies until we move into our new premises. All information in press release below.
09.01.2022 Well it seems like not much is happening at the Rex build for the moment, but we thought we would let you know that the Cinema Committee are currently in discussions with the shire and the architects, who are now close to appointing a tender to complete the build. It's been a long drawn out process and there hasn't been much for us to report on in recent times, but rest assured the Cinema Committee is working hard behind the scenes to ensure our successful future in the new space. We just thought we'd put out a quick update (because it's been a while) and keep you all updated with what's happening. Next month (Oct 2020) will see our little cinema non-operational for it's third year running. We hope to have some news about the recommencement of works soon. Stick with us folks - we'll get there!
08.01.2022 Normally, if the cinema were operational, we would have a tin on the counter and be fully supportive of this important local fundraiser. This is our little way of helping HRCC reach their goals. Please donate if you can. https://www.gofundme.com/f/community-cheer-for-hepburn-shir
08.01.2022 Here is an official update from Hepburn Shire about the Rex "build". This is not the situation we wanted to be in 2 years on; but the Cinema committee are still working with Council and are meeting with the CEO this week. We hope to know more very soon. In fact, next week (17th Oct) will mark our 2 year anniversary of being "Non-operational". This has to be some kind of record! If only we'd known this back in 2017 when we moved out, different choices might have been taken - and maybe our finances would be in a better position. Sadly, it's cost us enormously in so many ways. We hope for some bright news soon. Will keep everyone updated as best we can.
06.01.2022 REMINDER: Our cinema AGM is coming up on Wed 25th Nov at 7pm. The meeting will be held via zoom to comply with Covid regulations. The Annual Report, including Nomination and Proxy forms have been distributed in line with the constitution guidelines. Please RSVP by Wed 18th Nov to [email protected] If you would like a copy of the Annual Report, please email us and a digital copy will be forwarded.... For anyone wanting up update on the Rex Build, we do have guests addressing the meeting! It wouldn't be an AGM without an update on the renovations! Our Special AGM Guests this year include: Bruce MacIsaac, Project Director, Hepburn Hub, Hepburn Shire Council, as well as Stephanie Bullock & Michael Stowe from Kosloff Architecture. Stephanie & Michael will present the overall scheme for the Rex and in particular the Community Auditorium and its cinema features. Bruce will respond to process queries about the project. The architect's project drawings will also be available to share with our audience on the night. As with all AGMs, everyone is welcome to attend, but only members will be entitled to vote. If you would like a copy of the Annual Report, a Nomination form or Proxy form, please email us at the email listed above and a digital copy will be sent to you. If anyone would like an update on The Rex build, this will be a great opportunity to hear first hand from the architects and Council. We hope to you see you on the small screen on Wed 25th November.

04.01.2022 It's starting to get to that downhill slide to Xmas. This is a great cause and Daylesford Cinema is happy to support this local charity doing such wonderful work. 04.01.2022 An update from Hepburn Shire on the Rex: Hepburn Shire are keen to show off and discuss the ongoing works at the REX. If you would like to take a tour of the site, make sure you register with the Council. Details in their post below. Council have announced that the works will restart in Jan 2021 and the cinema committee have been told it "should be completed by mid-2021". (There... it's in black and white)! An Update from the Cinema Committee: We're hoping with a...ll fingers crossed that this build will be completed by the middle of 2021. Following the Cinema AGM last week, we're pleased to announce that the complete Cinema committee have once again re-nominated to stay onboard for the ride and see this project through. It's been a long-drawn out affair, as we all know - longer than any of us ever imagined, but we are in for the long haul, whatever it takes! Our town will have it's little cinema back in 2021! And the town will rejoice as one! See more
04.01.2022 Quick update on the rebuild!
