19.01.2022 Today we picked up the roses donated each year by Nati Roses. The association felt it was only fitting that Nati Roses be awarded life membership to the Granville Train Disaster Association. The actual year they started is not clear but it is in excess of 23 years. Congratulations - Well done.

10.01.2022 I trust all is well and seeing as I have been in lockdown being the age I and many of you are, I have not stopped researching and teaching myself new skills. This post is a bit long so you may wish to make yourself comfortable. Part 1. I would now like to pass on a few updates on what has occurred in the past months. 01.01.2022 Memories: At this time every year I start to dream of days gone by. As Anzac Day slowly approaches I think of not only those who lost their lives protecting our sovereignty but those that have and still serve to keep us safe. I also reflect back to my youth as in 1959 I was approached to play the 'Last Post' at several Anzac Services starting with a march through the various towns a week before the 25th and then on Anzac Day, I would play at a dawn service and then at a main ...service. During the years to follow, I would be picked up from school then work by a hire car where I would be taken to a gravesite to bury a return serviceperson with honours playing once again the 'Last Post'. Anzac Day to me is not just a day full of sorrow and memories as it is also a day for celebration as my big brother's birthday also happens to fall on this day, so I guess Mum missed the March listening to it on radio as Television was not invented back then. Also due to Covid-19, I am attaching a version of the last post I now use whenever I carry out a service for a member of the ADF. So, as the March will not take place in your city this 25th, take a moment to reflect as you listen to the attachment played by a member of the ADF. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McCDWYgVyps See more
