25.01.2022 What an amazing woman! All praise to Celeste! Thanks for sharing Trudy.

25.01.2022 I'm a bit late sharing this item, internet problems, but a story that needs sharing. Such a very difficult time for Beirut.

22.01.2022 A new year for DFG's Gosford Nth sewing team has began. Friday 31st January saw about 50 enthusiastic ladies & teenagers busily sewing, sorting, threading, ironing & packing 190 kits. Tanzania, is where 150 of these kits are heading to an international charity called So They Can which empowers children living in poverty through education. Thanks especially to our wonderful team leaders Dee and Dee for your tireless, enthusiasm given to this amazing charity. Looking forward to another year of fun & friendship as we pack past our total of 7335 kits and counting. Hoping you can attend our next packing day at Phillip House on Friday 13th March. Promise - no ghosts!!

15.01.2022 Gosford North has a secret weapon, Leah Knight. Leah made the 200 shields, 800 liners and 100 bags to make up the sewn components for the 100 hygiene kits to go to the doTerra conference. It is not the first time she has individually filled an order. Congratulations to our Pocket Rocket.

15.01.2022 Here are the details for the Christmas in July Fundraiser

13.01.2022 Thank you to Judite Martins (Rotary Club of Dili) for arranging for the first donation of Maternity Packs (items are purchased and assembled in East Timor) to H...ealth Alliance International Timor Leste Midwives and staff. The maternity packs also included Days for Girls (DFG) packs (donated by Days for Girls Gosford North), and we managed to get these into Timor Leste prior to COVID 19 :-) Thank you also to the Rotary Club of Erina and Rotary District 9685 for the grant that has made this donation of much needed items that women need at the time of birth. Health Alliance International Timor Leste - Country Director - Xylia Ingham, recently attended a meeting in Manufahi, and "one of the health centre managers identified women not having clothes and supplies for themselves and/or their baby as being a real barrier to women using the health facility to give birth if they don’t have these things they are too embarrassed and so choose to just give birth at home. These packs can actually save lives by ensuring that women birth with a skilled midwife! These Maternity Packs (including the DFG) will be distributed by the Midwives from HAI when they visit remote areas. Judite and her friends will continue to assemble these packs for us and deliver them to HAI Midwives to distribute. We would love to be able to continue this project beyond the grant funds we have available, so if you would like to support this, please donate at: https://donations.rawcs.com.au/45-2008-09

11.01.2022 As some one mentioned in the comments, NZ, leads the way again! Well done, the Kiwis.

07.01.2022 Good Afternoon friends... this week is Volunteers week, so celebrating all super special volunteers out there. Congratulations & keep up the wonderful work going on 'behind closed doors'. On checking through the DFG's Pages, I noticed these lovely handmade items for sale. The money raised from the sales goes to DFG's Avoca Beach Sewing Team. Take good care. Cheers Glenis Marshall. :)

07.01.2022 Days for Girls Australia (DfGAL), have so many incredible volunteers, and today we want to acknowledge one of State Sewing Specialists Nancy Wiese. Nancy found... out about Days for Girls when she attended a breakfast for International Women's Day and thought "wow this is a group I want to get involved with", and she started the Coonabarabran Team. In 2018 she became the Sewing Specialist for NSW, and this is where she has excelled. This year alone Nancy has travelled over 2,000km to visit teams in Narrabri, Moss Vale, Dubbo, Wagga, Albury and Culcairn, to demonstrate our new transport bag, alternative ways to help create quality, DfG Kits, and this was all before the lockdown. The lockdown hasn't stopped her; she is still connecting with teams and demonstrating sewing tips via Zoom. Thank Nancy for everything you do for DfGAL. See more

06.01.2022 Barbie from Emu Plains & Cheryl from Castle Hill team visited the Gosford North Days for Girls team on 1 February.

06.01.2022 Gosford North Sewing Team’s Christmas in July fundraiser was a huge success. The 190+ guests were greeted by our Carollers which was very welcoming and set the scene for the afternoon. The hall looked amazing, the food fantastic and the company was lively. Guest speakers were inspiring and a few tears were shed. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. Many thanks to everyone who contributed food and items for the 37 silent auctions and 35 raffles. Gosford North Inner Wheel, once again, presented a beautiful afternoon tea. There was even an appearance by Santa Clause. Well done to everyone on this wonderful joint effort. The Double D’s

06.01.2022 Maternity Packs assembled yesterday by Judite Martins and her sister (Rotary Club of Dili) and members of the Rotaract Club of Dili. Items were purchased and ...assembled in East Timor and donated to Health Alliance International Timor Leste Midwives and staff. The maternity packs also included Days for Girls (DFG) packs (donated by Days for Girls Gosford North). The Maternity Kits will be distributed to women in remote districts who dont have necessary items for themselves or their baby at the time of birth. This will ensure that these women will have a safe birth with a skilled midwife. 03.01.2022 As well as handing over the Maternity Ambulance in May 2020 (during COVID 19) We have also been able to arrange for items for maternity packs to be purchased in... East Timor and assembled (including DFG kits donated by Days for Girls Gosford North). Huge thank you to Judite from Rotarians Helping Timor Leste (in Dili) for your assistance with this. This was made possible by a AU$6,000 grant from Rotary District 9685, and AU$6,000 provided by Midwives East Timor Australia and our donors. These Maternity Packs will be donated to Health Alliance International Timor Leste and their midwives will deliver them to Timorese women in remote districts who are in need of these items at the time of birth. They will dignity to the women and encourage them to birth with a skilled midwife. Thank you to Rotary District 9685 and our donors for making this possible. If anyone would like to make a tax deductible donation towards maternity packs, you can donate here: https://donations.rawcs.com.au/45-2008-09
