23.01.2022 Breaking news: WARNING Trigger warning: Suicide... We suggest if you or your child uses the popular App Tik Tok, that you make sure they stay off for the next 2...4 hours or so. Overnight, sadly, there was a suicide that took place on a Tik tok live which has made its way into the feeds of many people around the world. The advice is to stay off Tik Tok for a 24 hour period until they have been able to take this video out of the algorithm. This is a very traumatising video. It is also circulating on MANY other social platforms (Facebook, Instagram and kids messenger), so please monitor your children. NB: if you are struggling and need to talk to someone, please reach out for help. 11.01.2022 When it comes to healthy eating parents are the most important role models! Talking with children about the benefits of a healthy breakfast is a great start. If you have a reluctant eater you could try encouraging healthy eating in the morning by:... Sitting with them and eating together. A share plate of healthy options is a good morning connector and will fill their emotional bucket too. Breakfast doesnt have to be limited to traditional items like cereals, toast and fruit. Anything that is healthy and filling is a good startlike leftovers from the night before or a toasty. If time is a consideration in the morning why not make a healthy smoothie made with milk, yoghurt and a piece of fruit to drink on the way to school. Cutting up the fruit is as much fun as pushing the button on the blender. Deciding what to blend together gives them choice and that grown up feeling. Even having a fun cup that is just for breakfast smoothies can do the trick! If you know its going to be a busy morning have breakfast ready the night before by preparing a bowl of cereal and leaving it on the bench or set your alarm 10 minutes earlier. Or take time to create some grab and go options! If you have a fussy eater try making breakfast more interesting like peanut butter on wholemeal toast with sliced banana & sultanas for eyes and a drizzle of honey as a smile. Activities such as rolling, cracking and peeling a boiled egg can be a bit of fun and will help get them engaged in doing it themselves! When youre out shopping encourage your child to choose their own healthy breakfast options. Spending the time to make a visual menu together to stick on the fridge can be just the motivation they need. Above all remember the time & effort you invest in developing healthy breakfast habits will pay off quickly every day in the classroom and over time your children will develop the confidence to make healthy choices that will last a lifetime. If you are concerned about anything a chat with your GP or child health nurse is a good place to seek support and advice. 06.01.2022 It can be all too easy to jump in and fix something or offer an answer or a response too quickly before our kids have had enough time to think things through and problem solve for themselves! Assist them when needed by asking reflective questions and encouraging them that they have what it takes to find solutions. Pausing as a parent to make space for struggling seems a little counter intuitive but watching your child persevere and succeed, or even try and learn to ask f...or specific help is a great reward! Together we are raising a generation of resilient, resourceful and responsive kids!

06.01.2022 Getting our uniform and kindy clothes ready the night before is sure making the morning smoother for everyone in our house! Whats your top tip for a Terrific Tuesday?

06.01.2022 Breakfast together...whats for brekky at your place today?

05.01.2022 Digital Door knock is an exciting concept... linking kids and families to connect and play the old school way! When I was young my best friend lived a few doors down and the kids in my neighbourhood used to talk (yell) window to window to send messages about the play meet up locations. I have so many stories, I bet you do too. I have felt grief that many kids havent had that free & easy neighbourhood play experience... so Im going to try the app... will you?

05.01.2022 This looks great - whose coming? Tag a friend...

02.01.2022 How you doing at 3am? It is exhausting thinking of possible solutions when sleep and learning to self soothing don’t come naturally. Persevere and be sure to give your chosen routine and ways time to settle before making changes.
