12.01.2022 WHAT IS MY/YOUR PURPOSE WITH STAND-UP COMEDY? Firstly, Id like to express my gratitude for liking my page. Thank you very much! Just 6 months ago, I stumbled upon stand-up as a pillar to work on my communication, confidence and public speaking to develop my leadership skills, facilitate workshops and inspire others; and suffice to say - it has been a blessing. ... However in the past couple of days, Ive been wondering ultimately what is my purpose of doing comedy? The whole idea of getting on stage with a microphone and doing/saying whatever you can to illicit the most laughter from the black cloud sounds pretty absurd to me. Considering the time and effort to develop this craft. Realistically, what is the return? Is it worth it? Or is it best spent elsewhere? Perhaps it is just becoming an unhealthy addiction? Let me know what are you thoughts?

The School of Hard Knock Knocks (SHKK) introduced me to the world of Stand-up comedy, provided me with the confidence, foundational tools of the trade and a small army of like-minded budding comics whom have undergone 5-day of intensive training to harden the f**k up to ambush, infiltrate and dominate the local comedy scene. Unfortunately, the road to comedy greatness is an unforgiving, challenging and lonely road and Ive witnessed a few of... my comrades slain in the battlefield. Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! - Rocky Balboa.
