20.01.2022 Opposite Action is a DBT Skill taught in the Emotion Regulation module. Opposite action may be used when you feel that the emotion, you are currently experiencing or have just experienced, does not seem to fit the situation or is not making sense TO YOU given your current experience or understanding of your experience. Opposite Action is one of many skills taught on DBT Assist. Worksheet is available in Marsha Linehan's DBT Skills Training manual on page 231 Like many DBT skills, you may also need to use other skills at the same time including your WISE Mind, Being Effective and/or Self-validation in combination with Opposite Action to receive the maximum benefit from this skill.
