23.01.2022 I thought I had (naively)experienced it all with horses, then a couple of years ago Chris Gould asked me to help him get a few young ones started. These next 5 opened my eyes up immensely. Chris opened my eyes up immensely. Being softer, listening harder, looking for changes and expression helped me feel and learn from these horses so much. What I love about my upbringing and working with horses, is there's never a point of knowing it all. And to have an openness to always learning has really helped me to be where I am now and always taking a step forward. No matter how slow, always forward.

21.01.2022 Marshmallow weed can be toxic. Try to avoid putting horses in paddocks with it growing. If it is in your paddocks, ensure there is plenty of other good fodder to be grazed on, or spray or chip out the weed.

02.01.2022 How do your horses hooves look before the next trim? I know many, many people who would say this hoof doesn't need to be trimmed yet. Why? ... Because it's not cracking or breaking off or looking like it's falling to bits. My question is why do we need to wait until a hoof is in desperate need of a trim before it actually gets trimmed? A solid foundation for a horse is not only in its training, it's also in its comfortability and ability to be functional. How long can you perform if your legs and feet are not comfortable? And how long before you are having back and neck issues from it? And we aren't carrying a rider around on our back... Have a great Tuesday!
