25.01.2022 ...changing times...

25.01.2022 So looking forward to seeing this....

25.01.2022 In a short time, our lovely cottage on the Pink Lake will be available for short-term accommodation. Bookings can be made via HipCamp, https://www.hipcamp.com/western-aus//the-rest-at-loch-hill (warning: we are having a few teething problems with this system!). Baba Loo and Co have been working hard to make this a place where our souls sing...and we look forward to sharing it with some special people!

25.01.2022 Doing some bookwork and reflecting on the last few months of work...and feeling so lucky to have work that involves interactions with some lovely people, and some drives in some beautiful country...

24.01.2022 Some great ways of tackling out water dilemma!

23.01.2022 Feeling happier than I was a few days ago....

23.01.2022 So in the morning I walk with two black and white Collies, and two young magpies. Waiting for that perfect moment when I can actually get all four of them heading in the same direction, together. Two black and white pups, two black and white birds. Until then, they keep me very amused!

20.01.2022 Now here's something that would suit us!

20.01.2022 Tree planting? Bike sharing? Guided hiking?

19.01.2022 Brings back some lovely memories: one of our favourite authors...still!

18.01.2022 Charles Massy...

15.01.2022 Congratulations Visible Farmer team!

15.01.2022 Plants...are life! So is poetry: I should be writing about sheep...

15.01.2022 Share by a friend in Melbourne...just one of the places in the world that needs cheering up!

13.01.2022 At the end of a long and winding learning journey, a piece of paper comes by mail. Thank you to the long-suffering members of the family who have put up with long monologues about systems thinking, tipping points, environmental law, anthropology and...well, everything. The tea and chocolate was appreciated. Already being put to use...this gave the confidence and knowledge to talk at a Sustainable House Day, and participate in writing workshops with Esperance Community Arts: the need to put all that we learn about sustainability and communities into practice is why we study these things, after all!. Murdoch University is the Master of Distance Education.

13.01.2022 The Cannery Art Centre is hosting a workshop with this amazing artist: On Sunday, details at the cannery: Cannery Arts Centre

12.01.2022 Though on the other side of the world, this story is a bit personal for us. My partner's family, and our children, have a farm on the Choptank River, which leads into the Chesapeake Bay. With creeks on either side of it, and only one boundary that is not fronted by water, this is a situation that is bound to have consequences...

11.01.2022 The ponies and I are walking with purpose!

10.01.2022 Clean Jobs Plan: thank you to the Climate Council for thinking ahead...

07.01.2022 Rural Room's first Calendar! Filled with images taken by members of our creative collective...from all over Australia: perfect for those overseas relatives that need a daily dose or our beautiful country...

07.01.2022 Close encounters with nature while cleaning up some rubbish...decomposing sheets of Masonite proving to be an ecosystem exploration: halted by the discovery of the end of a tiger snakes tail a few sheets further down.

07.01.2022 So without knowledge of the humanities and the environment, where exactly does that leave us?

07.01.2022 A sad reflection on our global food production system: "...To them, we’re just workers, Cisneros said. They replace us really fast. They don’t think of us outside of production.

05.01.2022 I came across this while searching for some info about ARLP for another Rural Room task...thank you to Rural Room and Bec Bignell for being such passionate supporters of rural creatives and giving us the chance to be inspired by the stories that are among us...everywhere! What a wonderful team to be part of: thank you! #ruralroom #arlp #storiesfromthebsticks #regionalaustralia #leadership https://rural-leaders.org.au/driving-change/
