05.01.2022 Now that we can rightfully embrace the urge to wander around our beautiful country, be sure to keep an eye out for Lucid, The Kombi Cafe in the Riverina. Back i...n 2015, Emma was given a 1970's kombi camper van from an old adventurer who travelled Australia wide during the 70s and 80s. With the help of her dad, Emma renovated the Kombi and launched her mobile coffee van business in 2018. "Just before graduating school I had this massive realisation that I had completely fallen away from my self, and was basing my whole ‘post school’ plan around others opinions (yep, I wanted to study law)," says Emma. "After this realisation, I asked myself what young Emma would think about going to law school and, to be frank, she would of thought that was pretty boring. So after some reflecting, I went back to my childhood dream of wanting to own a cafe. "I couldn’t afford it fresh out of school so my dad and I worked on getting an old run down 1970’s Kombi up and running, and converted to a mobile coffee van. "From that day onwards I promised myself I’d always follow my dreams, and every now and then check in with how six year old me would think I’m doing." The 20 year old enjoys nothing more than a morning spent parked on the side of the road serving her amazing community coffee and vegan treats. "The Lucid community is what has kept me going in the last few months. They’re family in my eyes, and they support me everyday. I always say that my dreams wouldn’t be a reality if it wasn’t for them."
