24.01.2022 We have spent a few weeks lately finishing up the series of the @bikesofwrath . We were helping out the peeps at @windmillaudio to clean up and get the dialogue and backgrounds to a mixable level. The film will be playing around Australia and the US soon (Feb 19th Astor) so come along for the ride

21.01.2022 We were tasked with recording 30+ girls chanting, singing , yelling , throwing netballs. But through most of the shoot a playback track needed to blare the actual song to keep sync. 2 x stereo mics, 4 x lav mics, 1 boom and 1 ambisonic mic, and 5 IFB recovers and we got there. The result is great! thanks to Talia Raso for being ever reliable and Liv Cheung = gun producer and all round Team girl for putting us on the bill!! https://www.youtube.com/watch
20.01.2022 Great achievement to @natalieejames and the whole crew to have @relicmovie premiering @sundancefilmfestival2020 tonight. Massive thanks to Rob McKenzie for letting us sound design, edit and work with Nat on FX, foley and backgrounds for the climax of the film. A solid three month stint that we will follow up once with some BTS once it premieres to the world (dont want to give anything away)
19.01.2022 We recently spent a couple weeks editing, recording VO and mixing a short documentary series for Kathmandu. Exploring eco tourism, cultural respect and how to travel more lightly, the crew visited Bali, Nepal and Sydney. Its a really insightful series!! Huge thanks to @Doss Flamingos and Kathmandu for having us onboard for this adventure. And we got to spend a few days with our favourite clothing in the world for Lav mics, silky puffy jackets with hidden lavs.....Joy!!

This is the second year in a row for a win in this category. Thanks to @oh_yeah_wow @andorism @taliaraso @shane.jarviekohn.
13.01.2022 #TBT I loved mixing for this program, Created by Ty Johnson and Dave Budge I personally mixed the Eps for Mark Seymour, Bears Den, Widowspeak and Nathaniel Rateliff. But the series also covers the likes of Laura marling, Gomez, Mumford & Sons and many many more. Constantly great audio to work with, recorded by Selwyn Cozens (the series audio director) and Johnathan Lee. A bright way to spend some lockdown darkness (deep)

11.01.2022 We have been and about collecting Ambisonic recordings for a new VR experience, commissioned by the City of Melbourne titled Disruption. Following the seemingly endless construction that is disrupting the city atm. Great to be working with Studio Bento and @paperticketstudios on this project

08.01.2022 We spent months sound editing, Joining the mix team at soundfirm and getting chest infections so we could record them for this film. Great to work with Sound designer Rob Mckenzie and his team on this one. Only 118 features selected from 3853!! Congrats Natalie Erika James and the whole team for the addition to Sundance!!

Including: blowing bubbles through guts and stomachs with straws, crunching and peeling as many vegetables as possible, my wife Jade Sonocym gurgling yoghurt and banana smoothies, editing the sounds at our suites with @natalieejames, and finally bringing it all together for final mixing @soundfirmpost with steve burgess Huge thanks to Rob McKenzie for keeping it all together and Mick Baraso, Glen Newhan, Chris Goodes and @andorism for all the great collaborations. 03.01.2022 This year we have had an amazing iso experience in organising and facilitating 8 artists (4 sound artists 4 x visual artists) for City of Melbournes Sound x Screen Commission. The work will be available from this Friday for viewing, thanks to all involved for making this happen and celebrating sound art in Melbourne, LockDown or Not!!
