12.01.2022 Today was busy with the morning tea at Child Safety in Roma which was deadly! But the highlight of the day was getting to perform for staff from Origin Energy and Mandandanji Applicants and very proud of the young people that I have to dance along me. All members are Mandandanji representing nearly all of the families Manns, Combarngo, Anderson/Landers. Two more dances tomorrow and I hope the weather warms up slightly #NAIDOC #Songlines #Mandandanji

10.01.2022 Came back over to Tara today to finish off the last of the NAIDOC Activities and also a look at the classes. Thank you to all of the staff, especially Jacque Hayward and Julie Martin for booking me. Can't wait to come back over

09.01.2022 Had the deadly job of welcoming some of the Beetson/Combarngo family members back onto Mandandanji Country today, for some of them it was their first time on country, and for the rest it was a deadly catch up with a walk down memory lane. Just wish the weather was a bit more friendly but that's my job and I love it

09.01.2022 Kick started NAIDOC Week with a cultural talk at Roma's All Saints Catholic Church. I also may add that it was a warm 0 degrees this morning and I felt the need to be in a lap lap #NAIDOC #Songlines

09.01.2022 Hey deadly people, For those that have stuck around and to any new people that may join the page. I say thank you and welcome, I’ve got some big news!!! I realised that I haven’t posted on the page in over 3 years! Which I am sorry about, during my time away from operating on a full time basis I’ve had some opportunities that I’ve undertaken. Those have included professional opportunities such as:... - Government employment and outside opportunities to gain experience and make a difference across various departments - Indigenous Leadership Programs - Political (which is still a dream/goal of mine) - Sporting - Board and Committee positions, local, regional and state based - Tertiary Education - Travel And of course maturing over the years, even though I’m still considered a pup. Since undertaking these various roles at different times and most at the same time has both been an incredibly humbling and uplifting experience. This can sometimes be good and bad long term. Although I kept parts of my cultural knowledge in tact, over the last few years I would find moments where it scared me as I could feel it slipping with the other workloads. Other factors included the passing of a close family member and extended family member that made me reevaluate my life professionally and personally. I know that these other lines of work will still play a significant part in my life and contribute to my political aspirations but I feel I need to do my bit to ensure that our culture is strong. To maintain that knowledge and endeavour to make sure no more is lost, keep a united front while pushing on with it regardless of an obstacles that are in the way. I want to showcase our culture so that’s valued and understood as part our country, I need to do what’s best for our future generations and more importantly my overall wellbeing. So keep an eye out for 2020 as it’s #YearofIndigenoustourism from the QLD Government, and I’ve got some exciting things happening this year. Expect in the near future: - An Instagram Page - Cultural Sharing - Website with online shop - Cultural Tours within Tourism Season in Roma - More Touring around with Markets - More Paintings - and more deadly everything I look forward to the year ahead and doing what I do best, thank you all in advance. I’m glad to be back doing this again and going on this journey you all #deadlyway #mandandanji #tourism #aboriginalculture #aboriginaltours #aboriginaldance #aboriginalart

09.01.2022 Hey g'day everyone, just wanted to thank you all for the sticking by Deadly Way with the Facebook support. Recently been battling some illness and personal issues but back on board and ready for a big month ahead in October #staydeadly

08.01.2022 Just finished down at Wallumbilla State School teaching the high schoolers about Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture as well as Mandandanji culture which is the land they go to school on. Few photos from the lesson

06.01.2022 Went over to St George today and taught some traditional dances with some of the kids over there. Everyone was from different tribes and nations and it was a deadly experience sharing each other's dances, songs and stories Thanks you Lifeline DD & SW for the opportunity and I hope the kids have a deadly performance at NAIDOC

06.01.2022 A deadly morning spent at Jandamarra's Art Exhibition ‘Our culture, our people our way’. It’s been over 5 years since Jandamarra and his family visited Mandandanji Country and displayed his ‘Kinship’ exhibition in Roma. Although it was a very brief catchup, it was deadly to reconnect and see some of your amazing new works on display. Always great to hear you speak and see your passion and love in showcasing our culture in today’s world while paying homage to those before us. Again always a pleasure to catch up brother If you’re in the Brisbane CBD head into the gallery and check out his work that’s on display until the 20th of February

05.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone

04.01.2022 Hey Deadly Way followers, apologies for the inactivity on the Facebook page but I recently made it into the Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program and I got the chance to spend a week at Queensland Parliament with 40 other like minded Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from all over the state. We learnt the ins and outs of politics, what we can do in our communities and networked with each other. The only time we weren't smiling was when we had to say goodbye. But back at work today and keep an eye out because NAIDOC is over the horizon and I'll be tripping around the SW and even SE region in the coming month. Thank you all for the support #QIYLP16

03.01.2022 Deadly day here at Tara SSC, freezing conditions to dance in for the morning session but some photos here of the art lessons. More photos to come and back here next week
